April 15, 2004 -- House Judiciary Committee Chairman James Sensenbrenner has demanded the resignation of Jamie Gorelick as a member of the federal 9/11 Commission. Frankly, given her blatant conflicts of interest, she should never have been appointed in the first place.

Here's the email I sent. Thank you for the address, Diogenesis.

Dear Mr. Kean:

I was originally planning to write to you to demand that Jamie Gorelick be removed immediately from this commission. As an active creator of the circumstances that led to 9/11, she cannot be impartial and therefore has no business participating in the final report. And as if the 1995 memo weren't enough, the news has also come out that she is a partner in a law firm representing Saudi Arabian interests with funding ties to al-Qaeda!

The fact that the Tom Daschle chose her and the other four attack dogs, instead of less partisan Democrats such as Zell Miller, speaks volumes about the true purpose of this 9/11 commission--for the Democrats, it is about destroying President Bush, not reaching the truth of what happened.

However, I have also read that you have stated publicly that the people--ordinary citizens--should "stay out of our business." Mr. Kean, the 9/11 is not YOUR business. It is work funded by taxpayer dollars and it is the people's business. What arrogance!

For that statement, you owe an immediately apology to the American people, along with an official statement requesting Ms. Gorelick's resignation. That is the only way the final product of the partisan dog-and-pony show that the 9/11 commission has become will have any shred of credibility at all.

Jamie should be run off and charged with impersonating a honest person. The commission is taited beyond repair and should be fired and replaced with people that put our security ahead of politics. Maybe not replaced they have done more harm than good.

"The Clintoons HAD to have someone in the 9/11 Commission to protect their Glorious legacy."

Isn't it funny how things work out? You know, if the truth comes out about the Clinton legacy as a result of this commission, it will have been worth it all.

Keep declassifying, Mr. Ashcroft!

"..another McCarthy Inquisition.."

If I may inquire, exactly 'which' McCarthy Inquisition are you referring to?

The Army-McCarthy Hearings - Where he was the DEFENDANT.
Or the HUAC (House Un-american Activities Committee) hearings? Which as we know, Joe had nothing to do with as he was a Senator.

No those can't be it, so you must be referring to the hearings where it was proved that Communist agents, aka KGB Spies, HAD infiltrated the State Department, the White House staff and other departments of the government. Yep, it must be that 'Inquisition'.

And just 'for the record' Senator McCarthy never 'ruined' one innocent persons life and/or reputation. Every person called to testify and who refused to answer questions WAS a member of the CPUSA, or more plainly, a COMMUNIST.

FYI, Last year the records from the McCarthy Hearings where declassified and are linked for reading on the U.S. Senate web-site. If you read them, you'll find that the most egregious 'questioning' was done by democrats on the committee, not 'evil' Joe. In addition, also declassified last year are the records of the Venona Project - which proves beyond any doubt that McCarthy was right. Those also show why FDR was not 'in the loop' on the Manhattan Project - in short, he couldn't be trusted.

BTW, I don't mean to offend, but the LIBERAL COMMUNIST LIE that McCarthy ruined innocent lives, was as evil as Hitler and ate puppies for breakfast must be put to bed and the record set straight.

Sent today:

Dear Mr. Kean: I respectfully request that both you and Ms. Gorelick resign from the 911 commission immediately for two completely separate reasons. The reasons Ms. Gorelick should not be on the panel are obvious and painful. It is clear at this point that her actions should be a prime, if not the prime, target of the commission's investigation. How can she maintain any appearance of objectivity under the circumstances? Why should she be allowed any input into a report that probably ought to be criticizing her own actions? Members of the public may well conclude that her recent nasty interrogation of Ms. Rice was not motivated by any honest quest for truth; but by Ms. Gorelick's desire to shift blame from her own shoulders. I was also deeply disturbed by your recent 'stay out of the commissions business' comment. Frankly, your salary is paid by the taxpayers and it is not your business. Your comment has deeply wounded the credibility of the commission. Together with Ms. Gorelick's deep conflict of interest, the two of you have raised an appearance of lack of partiality and a disinterest in acquiring the truth. I had hoped that the commission would actually conduct a constructive investigation into the causes of 911 and how to prevent further events of this nature. That was probably too much to hope for in an election year. Instead, you, as chairman, have allowed the commission to be turned into a wing of the Kerry for President campaign by aggressive partisanship on the part of Ms. Gorelick and Mr. Ben-Veniste. The case for Ms. Gorelick's resignation or involuntary removal is urgent and overwhelming if the commission is to retain any credibility at all. The case for your resignation is altogether different. I admit was an admirer of yours when you served as Governor. But the 911 commission has turned into a partisan circus on your watch. Your recent comments have wounded its appearance of partiality. Perhaps it is time for you to step down also in the interest of letting the commission regain its credibility under other leadership.

Send the commission an email. They have a web site. Don't know if they read them, but it can't hurt.

I don't know who Tom Kean is; but he has it back assward. This is our business. I just wonder who else on this commission has been planted to help the Clintons. These two and their little buddies should be put in jail.

Maybe ordinary people should form a 911 commission and call on these people to testify. It won't have subpoena power, but I bet you won't see Clarke appear when he knows that there is the possibility that he has a friendly bunch on one side and the other half willing to roll over and not challenge him on the "facts".

"Gorelick has served on the Schlumberger Board of Directors since 2002."

Schlumberger is a French conglomerate. It is the French Halliburton. Chirac wants Schlumberger to replace Halliburton in Iraq.

My sentiments exactly on Kean. Just whose side isthe B@#$!$ on anyway.

This commission is a joke and I am frankly wondering when one of the Republicans on the commission is going to get the guts and integrity to stand up and say so.

Lehman was just on Fox defending that Gorelick should remain on the commission. Said she was one of the most non-partisan members of the commission. (That should tell us VOLUMNES!)

Either the Republicans are spineless or the RATS have compromising video on every one of them.

It's extremely disconcerting to me that Star Trek is much more logical than my government.

Don't know, but I'd be willing to bet you that when one does, the press accuses that person of injecting partisanship into the hearings.

I think you are touching on something accurate. I personally dont suspect that Kean wants to bring down the president but I do suspect that the republicans on the commission are suffering from delusions of their own granduer. Admitting that the commission is a joke and has turne into a partisan political exercise will not only reflect poorly on him and his ability to head the committee but for any republican on the committee to admit that it is defunct would in essence put an end to their moment in the spotlight as being people of importance deciding important things. I am personally disgusted with them.

Since Gorelick is the one person most resonsible for not preventing 9/11 she has too much vested interest in blaming someone else to remain on the commission.
