We all get hot under the collar sometimes. We all lose our tempers. We say things we regret. Then we wish we hadnt said it and could take back.
But sometimes, people say things, and write things, knowing full well they are wrong. They threaten. They menace. They terrorize. And they do so for something as stupid and petty as politics.
An ad in the St. Petersburg, Florida, weekly reader ''The Gabber'' (gotta love the title of that, dontcha?) ran an ad requested and tailored by the Saint Petersburg Democratic Club. The ad reads as follows (the highlights below is mine):
Senator Edward Kennedy is absolutely right when he called Iraq ''Bushs Vietnam.'' But its not only Bush, its his whole damn Bunch Cheney, Powell, Rumsfeld, Rice, Rove, and Ridge.
Theyve tried to blame the Iraq war on bad intelligence, on Al Qaida, on terrorists, on foreigners from Iran and Syria. Bush doesnt even know who in the hell were fighting. The Bush Bunch calls the Iraqis insurgents. Did you know that Britain called the American revolutionaries insurgents and traitors? The Iraqis arent insurgents. Theyre Iraqi patriates [sic] who want us the hell out of their country, and we should get the hell out of their country now!
We have Marines and soldiers being killed by the dozens with many more wounded. How many have to be killed before the Bush Bunch is satisfied? How many burial services of our Iraq dead has Bush attended? Any? How many military hospitals has Bush visited to talk to our wounded who have lost arms, or legs, or they eye sight (sic), or combinations of these how many?
And then theres Rumsfeld who said of Iraq ''We have our good days and our bad days.'' We should put this S.O.B. up against a wall and say ''This is one of our bad days,'' and pull the trigger. Do you want to salvage our country? Be a savior of our country? Then vote for John Kerry and get rid of the whole Bush Bunch!
Please make a donation of ANY amount of money you can afford and send it to John Kerry for President, Inc. 901 15th Street, N.W., Suite 700, Washington, D.C. 20005. Do it NOW. Thank you.
For Club Information:
343-7921 Ken, President
525-1596 Edna, Vice President
Now, Im pretty sure that line above about taking Rummy and shooting him has got to be illegal. It is certainly uncalled for in civil discourse. And yet, Ken Steinke and Edna McCall of the St. Pete DEMS believe that their idea of open political debate is to assassinate the Secretary of Defense. Which is exactly what they are doing. Apparently with the blessing of the John Kerry campaign, according to the St. Pete DEMS veep.
Now, imagine if you will (and Im making a hypothetical case here, folks, not an actual threat) that I said ''we should take John Kerry and shoot him'' or ''take John Kerrys Defense Secretary (Hanoi Jane, perhaps?) and shoot her.'' Wouldnt the First Amendment cover that? Well, lets just say that I would (rightly) have visitors at the front door of my house wearing black suits and sunglasses (at night, no less), escorting me to a federal facility for a five year in-house course in gravel making.
Now, I dont like John Kerry, and I like Hanoi Jane even less. However, I wont threaten violence against them, or anybody else for that matter. Nevertheless, Ken and Edna seem to think its both hunky and dory to shoot Rummy. I wonder if theyd do the same to the rest of the ''Bush Bunch'' as they call them. I wonder how such hate could be fostered over a disagreement over political policy.
Or perhaps theyre still honked off about losing the 2000 election. This is Florida were talking about.
There is something sick about the hatred you see from the lib/dem/soc/commies. If youve ever visited the DemocraticUnderground.com site, youll see what I mean. For a short time, though, because if you post anything to the right of Kennedy, Hellary, or ''Hanoi Jean'' Kerry, youll be banned. Considering the language the allow on that site, youre probably better off getting booted. They swear ALMOST as much on John Kerrys official website....
I hope that Ken and Edna will switch to decaf for a while. Perhaps while they are breaking rocks in Leavenworth, theyll calm down a bit. The nice part is that after theyre convicted of a felony, they wont be allowed to vote anymore. At least, not legally. Course, that never stopped the lib/dem/soc/commies before.
Oh, if youd like to contact them and tell them your opinion of their ad, the area code for St. Petersburg is 727. Enjoy!

You should ask him why his was calling for an intifada against Donald Rumsfeld. We should keep comparing the radical Democrats to the radical Islamists.

During the recall campaign Bob Mulholland, California Democratic Party employee, told ABC News: Schwarzenegger is going to find out that unlike a movie set, the bullets coming at him in this campaign are going to be real bullets . . . When things get a bit tough, he is not going to be able to say 'cut'.
dem Rats can be a riot -- all in good fun of course. Satire, you see.
But those mean-spirited Republicans and their vicious attack ads reporting Kerry's Senate voting record go much too far. It' okay talking about killing your opponent or even "pro-war" Senators -- in good fun of course -- but talking about voting records?! That's going too far.

That's their FRONT story, is that only the military and the police should have arms (definition of a police state?).
Realistically, though, all the leftist elites have ARMED bodyguards, or they themselves carry/own firearms.

I have no patience for those Florida Rats that are "honked off" at Election 2000. The 'Rats tried to steal it by disqualifying military absentee ballots; there was some Dim state assemblyman (Irv Schlossberg) that was tooling around the state in his car that had a Votamatic in the trunk (well Gee. How did that get there?); recounting endlessly the votes in 4 counties (not the wole state, and not the same way in each county), etc.
THEY'RE "honked off?!!!" I'M STILL "honked off!!!"

Here is the text of an email I sent to the St. Petersburg Democratic club yesterday after reading this piece of news:
Dear Honorable Morons of the St. Petersburg Democratic Club,
First of all, if I were Rumsfeld, I would consider your inane advertisement in the Gabber a direct threat on my life and I would file a police report. I don't know if you've been paying attention to the laws of this country, but threatening members of a sitting president's cabinet is illegal, regardless of your personal feelings for the man.
Second of all, I would be careful about quoting Ted Kennedy if I were you. After all, he is widely recognized as the major architect of the immigration policy of this country which is what, after all, helped us be the recipients of the worst terrorist attack ever. Plus, he left a girl to die at the bottom of a lake, which, in my humble opinion, disqualifies any comments he makes.
Thirdly, regardless of how you feel about the current war in Iraq, the fact that you make comments such as these only empowers the enemies still attacking us in Iraq. What? Do you think they are all sitting in tents or caves and have no Internet access? They are constantly reading these kind of treasonous remarks and using them as fuel to continue ambushing American troops. So what if you think the Americans shouldn't be over there? The fact is: we are. And while we are, we should not contribute to the death and destruction over there by siding with the enemy. How dare you?
Fourth point. Bush can't go to the funerals. Even if he did pick one to go to, you liberals would complain that he didn't go to all of them. He's allowing the families to grieve in their own time and not creating an onslaught of media attention and onlookers by attending a funeral. Would you want NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, and all the major newspapers at your son or daughter's funeral? Of course not. But that's what would happen if he attended. He contacts these families privately to express his sadness and support for them.
Finally, Bush did not steal the election. This typical liberal response is so ridiculous it's laughable. In case you never took American government in school, our country has always had the electoral college system and just because you don't like the outcome of this particular one, you're all up in arms about it. Bush won the electoral vote. This country does not use the popular vote to elect presidents.
I literally could go on for hours but I hate to think I'm wasting this email on some secretary who is screening them in order to only let the "nice" ones get by.
My best wishes for pulling your heads out of your butts,
C.W.
P.S. I welcome a response from you with open arms. There's nothing I love more than debating misinformed liberals.

Good point.
Are there any individuals who truly believe in not having guns? Or are they mostly secretly pro-gun for themselves but anti-gun for others?

Actually, I've heard the argument from a leftist that goes something like this:
I don't want YOU to have the ability to own a gun, because that means that someone like ME has access to a gun, and I wouldn't trust someone like me having a gun.

Thank you for the post. 'Rats are evil.
However,(please don't aim at me!)the phrase 'pull the trigger' has been uttered in federal law enforcement activity to signify the pursuit of a final enforcement in a structured Plan of Action.
I have uttered it as a field federal enforcement officer before being promoted to a national office program analyst/manager cubicle. I have also heard similar phrases while working international.
The phrase may have been 'lifted' from a fed's 'little' book of dark humor. All levels of law enforcement and many other professions subscribe to a degree of absurd humor. It is kind of like "f 'em all, cept six!" It is dark humor - not reality. There should be someone left besides pall bearers!
Thanks again - the discourse from the left is evil and unending.

Ahh...so that person just doesn't trust his/her fellow man. I can't say I blame him (have you been to some of our college campuses?)
But they still must be totally anti-gun, right? Or do they secretly want a gun for themselves?

Assassination seems to come easily and quickly to the mind of Kerryites. Assassination of senators, assination of AGs.

There are a couple of different facets of leftism.
One is the person that wants to control other people - this person would want a gun for themselves but not for others.
Another is the person that wants someone to take care of them and relieve them of the responsibilities of life - this person would want no one but the "authorities" to have guns.

True...
And added one is (although this is the smallest group), one who believes guns give normal individuals too much instant power over their fellow individuals, and therefore opposes guns in a moral sense.

Hi, Please take a moment and either call the President or send an email to let him know we, the American people back him. Also, if you could just tell one person to do the same and ask them to tell another, than God willing, we will flood the switchboard with calls and faxes like they have never seem. This is one way we can take it direct to the President and it can not be misled by the media or stupid polls.....
Please call or email and God bless:

THEY'RE "honked off?!!!" I'M STILL "honked off!!!"I'm not -- because I imagine just how stupid they'll look when Bush wins again, and in an undisputed contest. That will take away one of their biggest (and most childish) insults, the one where they refer to him as the "resident," etc.
