Thanks for the alert. Sounds like this thing just might implode in May.

I saw that, too...look's like the dumb-a**es at DU are not happy with it, either. They certainly have a grudge against Drudge.

Ah, I wonder how President Bush managed to shut them down? :-)

This info was broken here on FR but Drudge will do anything not to link to FR.

"Wonder if the mainstream media will report their demise as much as they reported their "coming?" Of course they will. Haven't you heard? The left leaning press is a myth.

Good luck on your venture!

I remember Drudge from ten years ago when he said something about FR and the whole Clinton baby case. But then FR wasn't moderated then or am I mistaken? Is that why he won't link to FR STILL???

BTW, one poster said they have enough funding to run 2 years, without any advertising revenue. They might be talking about money to pay the "talent" salaries to keep talking, and to put *out* the signal, but I doubt if that's the same as being able to afford *broadcast outlets* all around the country to send their signal across the airwaves. That costs a pretty penny, and the local stations are probably starting to bail because while they hoped that being part of the "liberal talk radio" franchise would bring in a good audience (for local ads or whatever), they're probably starting to realize that it's a dud and the sooner they get out and put on better programming, the better off they'll be.
To: cyborg
Drudge stopped linking to FR years ago and quoted "business reasons". I have been battling this recently on the FR Drudge threads, but people who say they know Drudge will not cough up an answer.

Air America never had any commercial advertisers, ever. Yeah, they did. They had a few advertisements on the three or four hours I listened to it, its second and third days. The only one I remember specifically was MacDonald's. There was also some PR firm.

I think there was a tiff between either Jim Robinson or a member her and Drudge and both cut links from each other...but since, Jim put back the link on the homepage (that doesnt work now) and Drudge still hasnt mentioned us in forever.

The news just keeps getting worse for Airbag America. The next thing you know, Clyde the farmer is gonna ask 'em to move their studios out of his tool shed so he can put it to better use.

Business? Oh well I am sure Drudge lurks here on FR because I've noticed stories pop up there right after appearing on FR (just like this one!)

I wonder how much of the 'seed money' is unspent, and where it is going to go from here? Call me cynical, but I suspected from the start that it was a ploy to get Soros's money laundered.
To: prion
Well then I was wrong. This has only happened then of late. I don't think they had any commerical ads to begin with. Of course if they have lost the LA and Chicago stations they might lose what little they have.
To: smith288
I didn't realize there was a tiff between FR and Drudge. I also thought it was odd that he would link to DU.

I think there are several reasons. Some time ago Drudge was taking a pretty good beating on FR over some of his practices. Second, there was that whole "Drudge is gay" thing that got some coverage on FR. Third, he is good friends with Lucianne (the blue dress?) and he delinked about the same time she launched Lucianne.com and called Jim a "mean shit" in a Salon article. Fourth, he may think that we are competitors.
Of course, if #4 s the reason, why does he link to dozens of other news outlets, columnists, websites and Lucianne.com?
Personally, I'd be willing to let bygones be bygones if he just relinked us...heheh.

If you tune into the stations that are supposed to be playing Air America, you hear spanish music. LOL! But wouldn't some old East German programming be more appropriate?
