Hmmmm....I was in and out yesterday....what is the "wall" doctrine? (In a couple words?) Please...thanks.Correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I understand it the "wall" refers to a legal process or procedure that was put in place at the FBI that would not permit FBI agents/investigations working on intelligence matters to share any information with other FBI agents/investigations working on criminal matters.
It effectively put blinders on their teams and created an environment where very little if any critical information was shared.
It was impossible to "connect the dots"

They are OBSESSED with Bush being in Texas; they act like he was completely out of context.
They also continue to characterize that PDB as a "briefing."
It was BACKGROUND information requested by Bush; they desperately want it to be a WARNING, but it wasn't.

It seems that the wall doctrine was placed between law enforcement and intelligence people by Gorelick, simply because she was worried about not getting the credit for getting one of the terrorists.

That's why this whole commission is a farce. The Democrats aren't asking questions...they're making statements. The Judge on Fox (Napoliano) mentioned how the commissioners are talking 40% of the time, while the witnesses are only speaking for 60% of the time. As he pointed out, a true fact finding commission should be a 90-10% split...with the witnesses talking most of the time. The fact that commissioners are talking almost as much as the witnesses indicates that these people are using this forum to advance their political agendas.

Did Tenet just deny that "his hair was on fire" with regard to worry over terrorism? If yes, it puts to bed another leftist lie.

Ben Veniste is always dropping broad hints of classified material he's seen.
Now why did he feel the need to get out the "She" reference when he was talking about who wrote the August 2001 PDB.
Roemer says he's confused. Well! Whose briefing him on PDBs?
Tenet: The briefer himself. we have a presidential briefer.
Tenet spoke with the president on almost a daily basis through spring and summer but not the August period when President on vacation. Tenet said if he'd "had his hair on fire" he would have placed a call.
Roemer on Clarke: great deal of turnover on NSC staff 2001. Names names. How does that impact getting information to them?
Tenet: It doesn't.
Roemer; Despite the value of personal relationships? he smirks.
Tenet: I didn't talk extensively with Clarke during that time period.
To: Mo1
Roemer's having a cow because Tenet never saw Bush in August. Ummm, just how many times did Toon meet with Tenet? Roemer forgot to ask.

The "wall doctrine" refers to an instruction, written by Gorelick as Reno's deputy, that went beyond the law and prevented FBI and CIA from sharing info re terrorists. Reno and Gorelick have zero authority over the CIA. The wall memo prevented the FBI from internal communications. FBI agents with pro-actively gained intelligence (potentially inadmissible in court) could not share information with FBI agents that were handling active criminal (to be indicted and prosecuted in court) cases.

Amen to that. When I see him, I think Mob Lawyer.

I think Reno has finally realized that the Dems let her run in Florida and then gave her absolutely no support just to get rid of her.
