[history]
U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan said yesterday that the violence and anarchy sweeping Iraq will prevent the world body from re-establishing a major presence in the country anytime in the near future.
Mr. Annan also deplored the kidnapping of civilians in Iraq, many of whom were trying to rebuild the nation, and called for their release.

The headline should read:
Iraq Conflict Too Relevant for United Nations
Annan Announces U.N. Retreat from Matters of Importance

I'm confused. I thought that as the leader of the UN he was a crackerjack skirmish expert that could protect us from terrorist.
Why is he giving the impression that he's a pantywaist milksop that runs a rabbity white-flag-waving sissy farm?

It's easy to understand why Sen. Kerry sides with the UN.

"U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan said yesterday that the violence and anarchy sweeping Iraq will prevent the world body from re-establishing a major presence in the country anytime in the near future."
At the same time yesterday JFKerry was telling a group of college students that US should turn over Iraq to the UN...
Kofi and JFKerry need to be given the same sheet of music, JFKerry is loosing his credibility puffing up the UN.

Both Kerry and the U.N. ~ Both irrelevant.

The U.N. should be banned from Iraq until the corruption in the Oil for Food Program has been fully investigated. Kofi Annan and his son, plus all others involved in this Oil for Food Corruption should all be sent to Iraq to let the people who suffered the most from this despicable act, dole out the punishment.
That's Why Kofi's afraid to go and send people into Iraq right now. The Iraq people want the U.N.'s head on a stick and I don't blame them.
