Mr. Annan also deplored the kidnapping of civilians in Iraq, many of whom were trying to rebuild the nation, and called for their release.

Of course. A swarm of bees would be "too violent for the UN."

Hasn't the UN been laughably reduced to insignificance yet through all of the corruption associated with Saddam's Iraq! Why does Annan still have a job there?

They are afraid of being in Iraq for one reason...
The Iraqi people want their arses on a platter for enabling Saddam to starve them and kill them.

For the foreseeable future, insecurity is going to be a major constraint for us.

My sister had me convinced when I was 5 that a huge snake lived under the seat in the outhouse; I still can't piss and watch the sunset at the same time.

In other words, "I cannot see in the near future how we can milk the Iraqi people of their oil revenues in their present situation. With any luck, the situation in Iraq will further breakdown to where we can deal with the corrupt officials we all know and miss".

.......Basically, he's saying the UN's that friend that stands around talking - while your other friends help you move - and then complains when you ask him to go pick up some beer.

Why does Annan still have a job there?

To collect bribes?

Sitting back in a penthouse in New York raking in the Oil for Fraud loot is more to Kofi's liking.

Not too violent; just right, in fact.

Like Jean Fraud Keri ducking in and out of Nam like it was a 7-11, then lecturing the world on war.

Exactly. Iraq too violent for Kofi. Vietnam too violent for Kerry. He should have asked for that 4th Purple Heart for a hang nail.

I think it's unacceptable that these civilians should be mistreated in the way that they are now. I would want to see all of them released and allowed to go about, return to their countries or go about their business. -Kofi Annan

There! Take that, you meanies! Kofi won't bring his marbles if you guys don't stop taking hostages and killing them. What a maroon.

Well Kofi for once you have spoken and have made sense.

Of course his encrypted message is deciphered to say.

Hell no, we won't help!

Our job is to collect and redistribute money, and if there is no monetary gain for us in this endeavor, YOU, the U.S. can go pound sand!

Anyone consider my post off the mark?
