Thoughts on the press conference

After watching the president last night at the press conference - at times slashing base hits just over the infield and at other times roping line drives in the gap and all during a pitching exhibition that featured nasty pitches with wicked movement and velocity - I suddenly understood just what it takes to successfully engage in argument with the conservatives opposition. In fact, if I were part of that press core Id have broken protocol at three different points during the press conference just to render my applause.
Heres how I see it: the president gave all of us like-minded believers of conservative ideology a lesson in message sending. In order to not let our message get trampled during debate, we must discuss everything through the lenses of freedom and liberty. When we as conservative do this, we cannot lose in our arguments. We cannot be side tracked, taken on tangents, or even be tricked into false arguments when we maintain the message of freedom and liberty at the forefront of the debate.
For too long conservatives have been suckered into these traps, snares, and false arguments by their opposition. Last night our president demonstrated just how to stay on message despite being bombarded by weapons of mass distraction. I hope that we were all taking notes.
We must know that in the days to follow, many of those same press members that were present will label the president as a simpleton that cannot articulate his beliefs without saying the same things over and over again. Oh well! And you know what? These same people are really bothered by the fact that these messages of peace and security through freedom and democracy are the very messages that will lead to several more years of conservative leadership. So, in a nutshell, be a simpleton, be repetitive, be a pain in their backsides, and be a freedom loving winner. The last time I checked, the winners are not the losers!

It was one of Bush's finest hours. He was honest to the core and his values are right.
Reporters tried to badger him, put him in a corner, etc. He kept his cool the whole way, thank God. What if he had given way, as many of us probably would have, and told a reporter what he/she could do with their idiot question? No, he was above all that and he did not respond angrily to provocitive questions the way Clinton or Kerry would have done.
Dubya is a class act and an honest man. And a devout Christian. Heaven knows, Mr. Bush.

Staying on message is commendable, but sometimes I wish he would slap down the reporters for asking repetitive questions or stupid questions. He didn't have to ironman. I was screaming at them at the top of my lungs. Gee, didn't you hear me? :-)

Would someone please explain to me why the media is trying to hang inaction after the Cole bombing on President Bush? He wasn't in office, Clinton was, yet I keep seeing him being blamed for doing nothing. Clinton is NOT blamed? How in the world are they getting away with this?
BTW: Hershey is my favorite chocolate in world! :-)

Listening to a democrat hack --with Brit Hume, before the press conference-- pose questions straight from latest dnc talking points memos, the entire field of conference queries sounded like the press whores were reading right from that same list!

Indeed! One hosebag criticized the Prez for having speeches that "seem to sound the same", then she proceeds to ask a question that had been asked at least three times earlier in the press conference. What a bunch of tools.

Well, if they didn't ask the same question over and over again, e.g. appologize, vietnam, failure to communicate, yada yada yada.

Wow! Where did this come from? You think President Bush is just like Gerald Ford?
I would be interested in your reasons, oh nevermind. Anyone that could remotely connect the two is not worth listening to.

There were times when he was awesome, but I think there were a lot of times when he missed some great opportunities because he didn't think quickly enough.
For example, when asked about other countries' token troops...he could have said that no leader sends one of their own into harm's way with out complete conviction in the cause.
He could have spoken in broad generalities, including previous administrations, and come up with some mistake that was made. I mean, really, how can you look back and not find something that you wish you had done differently? He could have said that we all heard the rantings of terrorists and extremists for years declaring war on our country and admit that we all had a false sense of security. He could have used some of the provisons for the Homeland defense or issues in the Patriot Act to point out mistakes that were made and have been corrected and said that he anxiously awaits the results from the 9-11 Commission to provide more information.... I believe he could have fostered more credibility with independents and cross over democrats, had he been a little more willing to examine his actions and mistakes.
Go ahead...have at me!
