Bush spoke my kind of language today. The echoes were almost eerie. The Torie and Bush foreign policy are almost coextensive. It is probably more ambitious than a majority of Americans would really support, but then I am a rather ambitious type. The American duty with its power and wealth is where it can to stamp out loci of evil, which is inimical to the essential humanity of our species. It is what enobles our power and our self respect.

None of our arguments today mean a thing -- wouldn't exist -- if Lincoln hadn't said it, hadn't made it happen. Amazingly, self-government is yet despised in the world. If Lincoln hadn't salvaged it for America, America wouldn't today be fighting for it around the world.

Cheney is undoubtedly a verbal surgeon but he is not a man I would follow in Indian country. Dubya is. Why that is I don't know but it is.

great visualizations, thanks for the way you said it! I like GW and his honesty and sincerity seem genuine. But he also seems enough of a bad boy to draw us along....

Can you tell me what specific legislation or policy that Bush created, that didn't exist before he took office, that allows you to blame Bush?

Free trade. And pre-existing him doesn't give him an out. His support of it is directly responsible for this. Supporting it makes it his policy whether he put it in place or not. And he is planning on signing more legislation that extends far beyond Nafta. An opportunity to damage us further with even more of it. But more importantly, to disenfranchise Americans because they happen to be Americans and the companies don't want to pay American wages. They just want the American profits. It's no more complicated or simple than that.

I swear, prairie, I've never heard such venom from the left for a president. They ALL seem to have forgotten AQ and don't have an ounce of venom left for the terrorists.

Most Americans aren't either, and they're fine with Bush for his stumbling.

They like what's inside.

Kerry's smooth, Clinton's smooth, but they're as phony as $3 bills.

This thread is neither the time nor the place for you misguided and emotional anti-Bush tirade.

People have lost jobs, for all kinds of different reasons, from time immemorial and it is NOT the president's or the government's place to see that everyone has a job.Though I admit to not having read your original post,I have read this one.Are you a Conservative or a Socialist? Think about this for a while, because you lost assuredly do NOT sound like a Conservative at all.You use emotion and attempt to make those who read your words feel guilt. You appear to want demand sort of assurances/safety nets And then claim that you have never used any and won't ever use them.

This happens to be a live thread,a LIVE THREAD to discuss tonight's press conference.You've tried to high jack it for your own purposes and agenda.The president's policies are NOT "unethical" and tonight's talk was NOT about jobs at all.

You wanted sympathy and attention.You got attention, but it hasn't been what you really wanted at all...unless any attention at all, is what you crave.And FYI...your spurious whinging about "others" losing their IT jobs is a smokescreen! This entire outsourcing doom&glooming on FR, is mostly baseless and invalid !

I think he looked like a man who was carrying a heavy burden. Contrast this with Clinton-who never seemed to be bothered by anything-bombings etc! He is going very grey-being President is a difficult job.

Yup, the Nick Nuke'm guys don't understand that Bush is informed by his heartfelt Christianity. He said exactly what I've been saying here. This never was a "small project". It entails great risks and great rewards.

And his vision and toughness bodes well for the world my grandchildren will inherit. I thank him for that.

I have been perusing your responses and I want to ask a question of you.

Put yourself in the Presidents shoes and will the knowledge in mind of just how emotional he is about our troops and the loss of same. And the loss of the 3000 plus on 9/11........

Then stand there and have several idiots ask you to apologize to the nation for these losses!

These requests caused his heart to rise into his throat and did in fact stagger him, each and every time the apology line was said.

I felt it..........I felt it and wondered how the hell he was going to get through this because as much as he would like to apologize for all these things, an apology infers that something wrong was done.

He said", Ossama Bin Laden is responsible for 9-11 and no one else".

I thought it one of his best replies, but he was visibly shaken by our losses in Iraq. he could not apologize or say those kinds of words and he was searching for the answers that would help those who were grieving without showing weakness in front of the entire country. But the question would come again.

I could not have made it through that, yet he did!

He made me and any vet watching very proud. And he restated the goal and the reasons for sacrifice.

Yes, he did fine by me. Anyone who would not be shaken by what we have endured, knowing that we have much more yet to endure would not be the person that I would want sending me or my son into battle.

Yep, you will want to watch the west coast version of Larry King tonight (assuming that CNN doesn't edit anything out). It was really.... stunning. Kudos to the families who are supporting the President and understand what's happening.
