IMHO, to put it mildly, this isn't doing him a bit of good.

Good old Joe: Some people see the glass as half full. Some people see it as half empty. Joe wrings his hands and sees the glass as a bad thing, a very bad thing indeed, what on Earth were we thinking putting water into a glass?

I vote for "Pull my finger," but it looks like Kerry's the one sticking his finger out for the pull, lately!

I think he blew a lot of the Q&A period, and I'm not the only one who thinks so.

I'm not sure how he could have handled the are you a failure, what is your biggest mistake, are you going to apologize questions better than he did. I mean, those weren't even questions.

Can you imagine being a journalist and having the opportunity to ask the President of the United States a question during wartime on prime time TV and asking, "Have you failed as a communicator?"

How about some newsworthy questions from the news people. That would be a nice change of pace.

What policies did Bush enact that caused your job loss? NAFTA and other free trade agreements were signed in the early/mid 90s. I don't think there was anything new in that area in the last three years, other than the one again-off again steel tariffs.

Yep....... have to have a Beavis before my part comes into play...

LOL........

The media missed a huge opp tonight to look into the future, explore policies the President would envision down the road, get his ideas on the upcoming campaign, etc. etc. but instead they chose to be focused on apologies, what ifs and wouldas...... they had the spotlight and couldn't seem to keep from stumbling all over themselves.

What that list fails to give are the e-mail addresses for their rabid reporters who made utter fools of themselves tonight. Any clue how to find Terry Moran's?

So called delivery is important because it demonstrates that he's on top of things, for his supporters. He will lose the election based on how connects with the conservative base. If he's found lacking, he could very well lose in November, and JFK and the Dems win by default.

Communicating with the American people is a duty, and one that's been lacking during his administration, that and using the damned Presidential veto. What's this guy thinking? That he's Calvin Coolidge?

You're being ridiculous.Perhaps the example is a tad exaggerated but frankly, I think I'm hitting the nail on the head with uncomfortabl directness. But to each his own of what is valuable in a leader I suppose.... Prairie

Reminds me of the ZOT last week of some newbie complaining they lost their job, and decided that was the reason to vote for Kerry.

I love President Bush.
I love his character.
I love his stammers.
I love his blunt and shining honesty.
He reminds us all that we are just human beings.
He's had a tough rode to plow.
With little or no help from the other politicial party.
He's had the courage to stand where no man before him would ever go.
He's had to deal with a nasty snotty press that seems to work freely for the democrat party.
He's had to clean up a lot of bad things that the government was not able to do or could not do.
He is my President.
He is our Commander in Chief.
He fights so we remain free.
He remembers his pledge.
His sacred oath.
He is bound by tradition and by heritage.
He is bound by his words to protect and defend America. He remembers in his soul the words of Todd Beamer and our fellow citizens on Flight 93.
LET'S ROLL

He did have some powerful moments though where he really came across good...and I think his message, which was one of conviction and committment was very clear. But the moments of "drifting" were really bad and unbecoming for someone who is trying to reassure the nation that we are on the right track.

IMO, the president simply tends to stumble when he speaks. We've all seen this on many of his speeches.

I don't think it was any worse tonight and I don't think it was due to a lack of preparedness. If anything I think he stumbled less tonight and showed more moments of conviction and commitment.

And let me take it one step further. In My Opinion, a President that DOESN'T exude Hollywood, that DOESN'T remind me of Martin Sheen playing at being a president, that DOESN'T act like he's vying for an oscar makes me feel one heck of a lot better than one who tries to.

Been through 8 years of that. Look where it got us.
