When should we expect John Kerry to come out and tell the country that he refuses any donations received via this ad????????
To: threat matrix
They've really lost it down there in Floriduh. And the wackos in the Florida Democratic Club want to force Rush Limbaugh off the air. Their loss in 2000 has so discombobulated and enraged them that they're driven to the point of making death threats against the Secretary Of Defense! For the anti-Bush crowd, their hate of the President is far stronger than the terrorists who've attacked our country on 9/11 and who are attacking us in Iraq as of this writing. Its unbelievable, folks. When it comes to common sense, reason and decency, these people have literally flown off the walls! They're not just sick in their hate, they're a national joke.

I think the president is helping his cause right now. He is handling the press conference well. He is showing himself to be an intelligent, serious man who is passionate about doing what is best for the country. I disagree with him on many issues, but he is a good leader and good man.

My argument was that 18 USC 871 did not apply. There may be other applicable law that does....

To be fair - limit the punishment to those who did it. This certainly wasn't the head of the DLC saying what was in the ad. It was some crazies in Florida...

Bad taste in advertising and a rebuke.
I don't think they should face any criminal impositions - unless Rummy wants to sue them for civil damages.
Heck - wouldn't we want this to come out more? Helps paint those individuals as crazies and makes our side look more and more like the only choice..

XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX TUE APRIL 13, 2004 12:12:05 ET XXXXX
CAMPAIGN RAGE: FLORIDA DEMOCRATS PLACE NEWSPAPER AD CALLING FOR RUMSFELD HIT; FUNDRAISING FOR KERRY
Campaign 2004 turns extreme in Florida with the placement of a newspaper ad calling for physical retribution against Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld!
"We should put this S.O.B. up against a wall and say 'This is one of our bad days,' and pull the trigger," the ad reads.
MORE
The call-to-arms fundraising ad, placed by the St. Petersburg Democratic Club in the current issue of the GABBER, a local St. Petersburg paper, asks readers to make an urgent donation to the John Kerry campaign.
Club Vice President Edna McCall told the DRUDGE REPORT Tuesday morning: "We want to get our country back. In Iraq, we're in deep trouble. If we don't try to get this situation cleared up, we are finished."
When asked if the ad was a challenge to inflict violence on Rumsfeld, McCall explained: "'Pull the trigger' means let Rumsfeld know where we stand, not to shoot him!"
"We are getting raped, and they are planning to steal the election again."
McCall said her club is in direct contact with John Kerry campaign.
"We're all working together."
The publisher of the GABBER says running the ad with the passage "pull the trigger" was a mistake that "slipped through" during the editing of this week's edition.

What a bunch of coconuts.....here's my FR post that one of them posted when they were all claiming that the Ad was a 'dirty trick' designed by Karl Rove:

Now I feel like I need a shower.
One of them even recognized the idiocy of McCall stating that they were "in constant communication with the Kerry Campaign"...... a direct violation of McCain Finegold Law!

Isn't there a law of some sort against this? If not there should be! Only in Florida. I hate to say this, but Florida is worse than California when it comes to nutcase liberals.
