Barbara (L) and Jenna Bush, the daughters of U.S. President George W Bush, walk together from the Darnall Army Community Hospital in Fort Hood, Texas, April 11, 2004 after President Bush (news - web sites) and members of his family visited with soldiers wounded in Iraq (news - web sites). Bush awarded 10 purple hearts to troops recovering in the hospital, after attending an Easter Sunday Church service at a chapel within the army base in central Texas.

Same here. We were only allowed to wear "long legged britches" under our dresses on extremely cold days.

Me, too. It's such an odd coincidence. One sanctimonious prig down, and another one appears, up-to-speed with the thread and not needing to catch up.
Passing strange.

Gloves are back in style but the new ones are all colors and no one knows the gloves rules. Esp the one where you take them off to shake hands. but no one shakes hands and does proper intoductions anymore anyway. What happened to introductions, proper ones? And nice thank you notes on your very own note card with engraved name on the front? And calling cards? My youth was very full of these niceties. Now we just get emails. And alot of the time, not even a thank you note for weddiing presents.

"Panties are taking over the thread."
What a shame - they're not really needed. A somewhat distant related question for the ages - what do training bras train?

I went to Catholic school, where we had short, pleated, uniform skirts. I always hated leotards, because the crotch was always slipping down to my knees.
The boys used to run up behind us and "flip" our skirts, so we wore shorts underneath.

You might want to start with Miss manners. Or, didn't your parents teach you to not spealk ill of those not present to defend themselves. A touch of comportent can go a long way in making one appear to be a lady. Good manners, never go out of style.

My kids wore shorts under their uniforms. I used to get in trouble for hangiing from trees in my skirts and my underpants showing.

Oh Playmate, Come Out and Play With Me
Say, say, oh playmate,
Come out and play with me
And bring your dollies three
Climb up my apple tree
Slide down my rainbow
Into my cellar door
And we'll be jolly friends
Forever more, 1-2-3-4
It was a rainy day,
She couldn't come out and play
With tearful eyes, she breathed a sigh
And I could hear her say:
Say, say, oh playmate
I cannot play with you
My dolly's got the flu
Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo
Ain't got no rainbow
Ain't got no cellar door
But we'll be jolly friends
Forever more, 1-2-3-4

I went to Catholic school, where we had short, pleated, uniform skirts. We couldn't wear skirts til 7th grade, they were jumpers til then, and they could be no more than 1 inch above the knees.........I remember many a hem being ripped out by S'ter.......
The boys used to run up behind us and "flip" our skirts, so we wore shorts underneath.
As many years as it has been, I remember that as well!!!!

Newest resident prig is often the downer person on other threads. I pay no mind to it, as it is in my opinion a sleeper troll.
