They went after release because of the sensational title.

The sensational title was published on the front page of the Washington Post, on Sunday, May 19, 2002. The title of the PDB was in the first sentence of that article. It was sensational then. Now it's old news. Let's moooove on.

It is my understanding that the only person on that commission who has seen the actualy PDB is Jamie Gorelick and that SHE wrote the synopsis for the rest of them and that's what he is working on!

One thing MSNBC is asleep at the wheel. They are broadcasting a National Geographic rerun while Fox News Channel is all over it.

Because Rita was questioning the timing of the release of the PDB, and she even agreed with Tony Coelho about it.

Whoa, Mort's trashin' Clarkie!

LOL! Like doodling while waiting for the test to be handed out.

The Left is desperate to spin this into a "Watergate Part Deux". The Times and Post already have the headlines in print: "What Did Bush Know and When did He Know It?" The full frontal assault by the desperate Democrats is on. In the end, I believe good will prevail and that they will fail.

Most sensible voters look to the future, and most understand that the Democrats have made matters worse by weakening defense, intelligence, and law enforcement. They also understand that the Democrats had eight years while GW was in office for eight months.

I would like to see the Republicans make more of the fact that the GW Administration was hobbled by the Dims sandbagging GW's appointments for most of GW's first term. IMO, a very strong argument can be made -- but would never be carried in the media -- that the Democrats were substantially complicit in 9-11 due to the fiasco of the Clinton's eight years and followed by their obstruction of the fledgling GW Admin. They wanted GW to fail and could care less about the detrimental consequences of their actions.

I just love it when the Dems DARE the Bush team to show their hand...and I can just see the Bush Team saying "Let's see. First they'll ask Condi to testify, then they'll ask for the August paper to be released. Guess Dems don't know how to play poker."

Mort Whoever that Jarred (FoxNews) was talking to on FoxNews just said he thinks Clarke's book was the result of Clarke being disgruntled for not getting the head-terrorism-czar position in the Executive Branch.

Ben-Veniste questioned her about the Presidential Daily Brief (PDB) of Aug. 6, 2001, and in her nervous answer she blurted out the classified title: "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States." Ben-Veniste knew that, but could not say it because he and other commissioners had been allowed to see parts of the memo on condition that they not reveal its title or contents. Rice, in effect, declassified that title on her own. Many reasonable people will interpret the lack of follow-up -- she lamely said follow-up was not part of her job -- as stupidity and incompetence.

What a moron this Reeves is. And he DARES to call Rice nervous and stupid?

As my link at 164 demonstrates, Ari Fleischer on the record gave the title to this briefing in 2002.

I hope Reeves has the grace to blush and reconsider whose word he takes at face value next time.
