We've all done it. You've just gotten home, logged on to FR, and are scrolling down the "Latest Posts" page, deciding which thread will get your attention this evening, when THAT SCREENNAME jumps out at you in a "to" or "from" position. You are powerless to resist; if THAT GUY's there, it's gonna be a good thread...

All of us have our own "favorites" among the many colorful souls who congregate at this fine website. They could be someone you disagree totally with, agree completely with, or somewhere in between. They might be a fount of useful information, links, and facts. Our favorite might be devastating at the art of debate; demolishing opponents in truly unique style, or he might be just plain nuttier than squirrel dung, but fun nonetheless.

Perhaps your favorite FReeper has a way with words; an excellent writer. Maybe they are someone highly experienced in a particular field, with knowledge that many do not posess. Maybe they're dumber than a bag of hammers.

Point is, no matter what the reason, our "favorite FReepers"' handle attached to a thread makes it all the more interesting to us; it guarantees a wild ride or sublime pleasure in the reading and learning. It may also guarantee an increase in blood pressure and indigestion, but one thing's for sure...that thread HE's on is gonna get a hit or two, and it won't be boring.

I've got more than a few of my own, and I'm sure all of you do as well. WHO'S YOURS?????????????????

Thanks. Now I have to mention one FReeper, who to my knowledge has only posted twice, but who has affected my life for the everlasting better.

She gave me love.

She married me.

She followed a Sailor on his way.

She made a tiny house in Florida a warm, happy home.

She gave me the greatesy gift a man could get...a son, Short Cut.

She held me up and strengthened me on the awful day my mother died.

Even now, while we are separated by many thousands of miles, she still keeps the light on for me, and makes sure our home is ever ready for my return.

Thank YOU, Mrs. Cut. You mean more to me than anything in this world, and I can't wait to see you again. Hug Short Cut for me, and whisper to him that Daddy will be home someday.

You were on my list!..I even brought up a certain thread (when I believe someone wanted to fight you and most of the thread's posters...and one LONG thread where someone was really after me,putting thoughts in my head and labeling me with opinions I did not hold and you cheered me on because I would not let it go!!)

I also love any FReeper who takes the time to say a prayer and post words of encouragement or salvation to someone in need. It truly means so much. As a former lurker who used to pray when I read a thread, I thank the lurkers who currently do that too.

As a person who just came out of lurker-only status myself, I thought your sentiments worth repeating. I too have prayed for many on FR and I'll bet there are a lot of strong silent types out there doing that very same thing. To them, I say thanks, and come on in!

Yeah, the "frozen months" turned into the "hot, sandy months", and THEN into the "humid, tropical months", and BACK to "frozen".
