Gun Found In Airport Bathroom Fri Apr 9, 7:11 AM ET Add Local - NewsNet5 to My Yahoo!
A gun was found in a bathroom at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport Thursday night, reported NewsChannel5.
City officials say the gun belonged to a federal air marshal. They do not know which terminal it was found in, or whether it was a men's or women's restroom.
A passenger found the gun, and promptly turned it into authorities.
NewsChannel5 spoke with the mayor's press secretary, Celeste Glasgow, who said that this kind of carelessness is "unacceptable".
" We'll take every course of action with the federal government to make sure it does not happen again at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport," said Glasgow
It is still unclear how the gun was able to get past airport security.
Glasgow said they are in the process of contacting national security in order to take some sort of disciplinary action against the marshal who left the gun.
Airport officials insist this was an isolated incident, and that traveling out of Hopkins is still safe.

I was in that airport last night. If they did find a gun the terminal I was in, it certainly didn't show. It was a low key but very busy night at the airport.

Okay, if the gun was a federal air marshal's, doesn't that explain how the gun got past airport security? Or are the marshals not allowed to have their guns in the terminals? Anybody know?

I've spent to many days driving back & forth to Hopkins my car goes on automatic. I sit back and just people watch while waiting on the flights to come in. The attitude of many TSA workers borders on the walking dead.
The Fed. Marshall has some explaining to do.

Perhaps the gender of the "passenger" could be a clue.

I'm certainly glad the "professional" federal employees are providing airport security now, aren't you?

Some friggin' rookie. Complete lack of training.
As the saying goes:

Of course this is assuming it was a man. And the story, for PC reasons probably, does not specify the sex of the bone-head.

LOL!
At least the fed didn't leave it in the bathroom on the plane, which has happened before.

I hope THAT Federal Marshall has been fired.. I doubt it. Probably just reassigned.
Or maybe they'll let him continue flying, since they are so desperate for air marshalls to give the appearance of security.
BTW, if this was Joe Six-Pack instead of a fed, he'd be looking at criminal charges... Probably federal felonies.

The boneheaded marshall did not have it when he boarded the plane he was hired to protect.

Calamity Jane doesn't want
anyone having guns in Cleveland except cops, and doesn't want to have too many of them (unless her kids need a ride somewhere).
Concealed carry license applications began yesterday as per the new state law. Suprise, suprise....Cuyahoga County Sheriff McFaul (D,OC) says his office isn't ready to accept any and won't be for quite awhile. It doesn't seem to be a priority either.

Idiot probably set the pistol on the back of the commode when he set down, then forgot it and walked away. WRONG! Drop the piece into the crotch of your underwear. It protects it from view if a miscreant looks under the door and is impossible to forget.
