Nuke those babies in their cribs eh?

These would have been called minor skirmishes and the casualties called mercifully low. The bar is set at Gulf War 1 and Kosovo. That's the new bar. We have to deal with it.

I read on SkyNews that they are reporting 130 americans dead they have no details but according to them the DOD is reporting that.

Time to move up the timetable for handing over control a month or so.

In terms of the effect of this on President Bush's popularity, that doesn't matter to me. They can "fall apart" for all I care. GIs are being shot and killed. This has to be dealt with. If not, these savages, these barbarians can build their strength and strike at will and at times of their own choosing. I believe we must attack and attack and attack and not give a fig about poll numbers for a while.

I was afraid of that. We need to take the gloves off. I'm sorry about the innocent people, but the ball is in their court. If they don't turn the bad guys over then all bets should be off.

You liberate a country and tell them they can't exercise their right to freedom of religion-- like we banned their newspapers?

Does anyone else think all this criticism of the Iraqi war by the Dems and Kerry have emboldened the insurgiants and the militant Shiites.
Realizing there's "in fighting" over the war in the US, they may be trying to make more Americans question the war.
IMHO, the whole bunch of them, Kerry, Kennedy, Daschle, etc. should be publicly reprimanded, and told to shut up about the war, because it may be leading to more violence in Iraq.
Funny how you can almost trace the upsurgence of violence in Iraq to when Kerry finally secured the probably nomination of the Dems.

I agree. Is it just me, or is this war being fought just a little too politically correct? I have to say I'm getting tired of seeing our guys get picked off, on top of what happened in Falujah. I support Pres. Bush, but I'm beginning to wonder.
To: inkling
I expect his numbers to rise -- rally 'round the flag and all that. If I'm wrong and they go up, I'll give you your props. I say you're very wrong.

If we can't take these casualties, millions more are coming, and they will be here.

That's the style of battle Americans prefer. We don't prefer to "prevent" war by going to war. It's how we are.

I agree with you but problem is that U.S. administration does not seem to recognize that this is a religious/cultural war. I think deep/down Bush knows it is but he has to tow the P.C. line. Islam has declared war against the West.

I think he could get support if he said that. People might blanche at attacking every Muslim nation on earth, but if that's what Bush thinks it will take, he should say so.
