US Promises to Punish Those Responsible for Gruesome Iraq Attacks

The top U.S. official in Iraq says Wednesday's gruesome attacks on four American civilians whose burned bodies were put on display in the town of Fallujah will not go unpunished.

"It's going to be deliberate, it will be precise and it will be overwhelming," U.S. General Mark Kimmitt said, speaking to reporters in Baghdad. He warned insurgents in the town of Fallujah to be prepared for U.S. forces to strike back following Wednesday's killing of four American contractors by a frenzied mob that dragged their charred bodies through the streets.

Televised footage of the act has provoked outrage from Americans in the United States and led U.S. administrator in Baghdad Paul Bremer to issue a warning.

"Their deaths will not go unpunished," he promised.

The White House blamed the attacks on supporters of Saddam Hussein. The remains of the four were to be turned over to the U.S. military.

A day after the attack, three American soldiers were injured in another attack near Fallujah, this time when their Humvee struck a roadside bomb.

You cannot post things like: "Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shall Not Lie, and "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery" in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians.

This is so truthful it hurts!

with lawyers running the government...and it doesn't have to be that way...every screwed law they pass is intended to keep the income flow going to them and their fellow lawyers in private practice. I venture to guess very little, if any, is done for purely altruistic reasons in Congress. If it were, the IRS would be gone and we'd have a simple system. The more complex it is, the more those big accounting firms and tax lawyers make money. IT is ALL about the money. I wonder why the founders didn't think about the corruption that would result from LAWYERS making "laws." I will never back down from this view. I believe it represents the truth.

Next time someone runs who does not have a law degree and has no ties to corporations, they'll get my vote. Only then will they do what is best for the country, and not for the wallets of themselves and their buddies.

I just got online and am catching up for the day. I certainly enjoy your poetry but I do have a comment regarding this part

May God have mercy on your lost souls.

I assumed, by their behavior, they were soulless.

Something to ponder.

If We Can't Even Name the Enemy (Islamism)

"Last month, I had the honor of meeting Sheik Abdul Hadi Palazzi, secretary general of the Italian Muslim Association. In our all-too-brief conversation, he told me -- in direct contradiction to President Bush's exhortations that most Muslims in the US are peaceful -- Islam in America has become radicalized. And unlike Mr. Bush and his apparently inadequate advisors, this man is an expert on Islam and its adherents."

I thought the same thing when I found the article. Also, I watched BBC news this morning. They were reporting that all phone lines from N. Korea were shut-down to keep info. from getting out regarding the crash. Also reported that N. Korea has no medical supplies to help the injured. No medicine, no surgical supplies, and barely ambulances to help the injured.

Oxon Hill development has ties to terror Hamas leader, man accused of al Qaeda link invested in Barnaby Knolls

By Mary Beth Sheridan

Updated: 12:47 a.m. ET April 19, 2004

It is a neighborhood of green lawns and brick colonials just 10 miles from the White House, a place where bumper stickers proclaim: "Proud to Be An American." Residents of the Prince George's County development call it Barnaby Knolls.

U.S. law enforcement officials have coined another name for it: Hamas Heights.

Documents filed in a recent court case show that a leader of the Palestinian group Hamas, which is formally known as the Islamic Resistance Movement and has been declared a terrorist group by the U.S. government, invested about $1 million to develop the neighborhood in Oxon Hill in the early 1990s. Among the other investors named in the project: relatives of Osama bin Laden and a Saudi businessman now accused of ties to al Qaeda.

Judge indicates he will limit government evidence against Al-Hussayen

By BOB FICK / Associated Press

Prosecutors pressed a federal judge Thursday to show jurors an Internet Web page they say encourages suicide bombings and built by University of Idaho graduate student Sami Omar Al-Hussayen, who is being tried for aiding terrorism.

But defense attorney David Nevin argued that even though Al-Hussayen formatted the page in mid-2001 for the Islamic Assembly of North America, the government cannot prove he endorsed its content. Nevin claimed introducing the Web page would taint the jury.

Authorities say two Detroit area men sent thousands to Hezbollah

April 17, 2004, 10:26PM

DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) -- Two Detroit area men suspected of links to Hezbollah sent thousands of dollars to buy military equipment for the group, according to an FBI affidavit.

The affidavit, made public Friday, links two government investigations of alleged funding of the group by the men.

In the May 2003 affidavit, FBI Special Agent Timothy Waters said that Mohammed Krayem, who spent time in Canada and Michigan, "sent approximately $200,000 (Canadian) to his brother." The money was used to "purchase military equipment from United Nations Protection Forces stationed in southern Lebanon," The Detroit News, in a Sunday story, quoted the affidavit as saying.

I don't know why we aren't adopting this "state of the art technology" to deal with the enemy. It's the kind of weapon they readily understand and it bashes to heck their chances of meeting the sleazy "virgins" that every other jihadi (yehcht with that thought) plans to "meet" in the afterlife. They can take the term "bringing home the bacon" to a whole new meaning.
