US Promises to Punish Those Responsible for Gruesome Iraq Attacks

The top U.S. official in Iraq says Wednesday's gruesome attacks on four American civilians whose burned bodies were put on display in the town of Fallujah will not go unpunished.

"It's going to be deliberate, it will be precise and it will be overwhelming," U.S. General Mark Kimmitt said, speaking to reporters in Baghdad. He warned insurgents in the town of Fallujah to be prepared for U.S. forces to strike back following Wednesday's killing of four American contractors by a frenzied mob that dragged their charred bodies through the streets.

Televised footage of the act has provoked outrage from Americans in the United States and led U.S. administrator in Baghdad Paul Bremer to issue a warning.

"Their deaths will not go unpunished," he promised.

The White House blamed the attacks on supporters of Saddam Hussein. The remains of the four were to be turned over to the U.S. military.

A day after the attack, three American soldiers were injured in another attack near Fallujah, this time when their Humvee struck a roadside bomb.

I see the gun hating press just lapped up this opportunity to impugn this guy. The only screwup this guy made was an unintentional discharge while disassembling the rifle. The rest is overblown hype from the leftist, gun hating press.

Does Illinois permit citizens to light off fireworks on the 4th of July? My city does. We have quite a few leftover. Since we can only light them up during the 2 weeks prior to 4th of July and on New Year's Day, the rest must be stored safely until the next time that it is permissible to light them up again. Explosives? Does the guy reload ammunition? I do. I have multiple containers of smokeless powder used for different calibers. It's not an "explosive". It is a "propellent".

I'll bet the "stockpiling" ammunition charge comes from buying a box of 1,000 rounds of ammo at a gun show. It is much cheaper to buy surplus or reloaded ammo at a gunshow in boxes of 250, 500 or 1,000 rounds. A typical box of factory new ammo (50 rounds of 9mm) costs $8 to $10. Reloads average around $3 for the same number of rounds.

California and Illinois are two states that will never receive state income tax revenues from my pockets.

I'm beginning to wonder if some of these explosives, discovered in hill and dale, could be placed there as 'dead drops' for later pick up. I dunno, but something about all these explosives popping up in fields, alleys, drains, salvation army bins, etc., is suspicious.

Uniform stolen from deputy's house (Kansas)
Friday, April 23, 2004 11:42 am

By SHARON MONTAGUE

Area residents are being asked to be alert when dealing with someone who purports to be a law officer after a uniform belonging to a Saline County sheriff's deputy was stolen Thursday morning from his home.

Saline County Undersheriff Dave Dunstan said an entire uniform belonging to deputy Scott Thirkell was taken between 7:15 a.m. and 11:40 a.m. Thursday from Thirkell's home at 7345 S. Gypsum Valley Road. Thirkell's gun, ammunition and gun belt were not taken, Dunstan said.

Dunstan said Thirkell changed his clothes about 7:15 a.m. to go to the firing range to qualify with his weapon. While he was gone, he left the uniform in his dining room.

Dunstan said Thirkell's home was locked, and there was no sign of forced entry. Officials don't know how a thief entered.

"We are kind of concerned about this," Dunstan said. "If anyone sees the uniform anywhere where they believe it shouldn't be, or sees anything suspicious, they should call us or their local law enforcement."

People may call the sheriff's office, 826-6500, or Crimestoppers, 825-TIPS.

Good grief. Kansas again. Lemme see, we've got strange events in Conn., Vt., NY, DC, Jersey, Texas, mostly around Houston/San Antone, Kansas, Co., Az., La. Just in the last couple of weeks. Opps, Virginia, too.

I think the greater the number of strange events, the more likely a big terror attack.

You the outgoing.
We will kill every last one of you if you try it.
Your flesh will rot in the sun. There
will be none of you left to bury your dead.
and so, we infidels will give you the burial
deserving of murderers..wrapped in pigskin and
soaked in pig fat. May God have mercy on your
lost souls.

Who in the hell side is the government on anyway??????

The socialists and communists are on the side of total disarmament. Until that happens, they can not achieve total control. We have a long list of "friends" in Congress. Feinstein, Boxer, Schumer, Lautenburg, Kennedy, Kerry and Clinton. Illinois governor Blagojevic was constantly writing hairbrain anti-gun bills when he served in Congress. Mayor Daley of Chicago is anti-gun. Having Blagojevic in the statehouse makes it easier to push his agenda.

California has Scott and Perata carrying water for Feinstein, the Violence Policy Center and the Brady Campaign. The anti-gun Democrats have a total lock on the California legislature and a willing accomplice in CA State Attorney General Bill Lockyer. CA is hopeless. One reason I left for Idaho.

BTW, only law abiding California citizens have been stopped from buying "assault weapons" at legitimate gun shops. The street gangs have all the truly full-auto "assault weapons" they want. The guns are shipped into the country with drugs. When the gangs decide it is "their time" to turn on the population, the people and law enforcement will be massively outgunned.

AP ENTERPRISE: IN GLOBAL SWEEP, AL-QAIDA AND OTHER SUSPECTED CELLS RAIDED ACROSS EUROPE, MIDEAST, ASIA TO DISRUPT ATTACKS

By Matt Moore
The Associated Press
4/23/04 2:59 PM

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) -- Police and intelligence agents have raided suspected terror cells from Amman to Stockholm in a global sweep to thwart al-Qaida and other attacks on major targets -- from U.S. embassies in the Middle East and Asia and American forces in Iraq to shopping malls in Manila and possibly a soccer stadium in Manchester.

Lightning arrests of accused militants in Sweden and Britain this week and the killing of four accused bomb plotters in Jordan -- with tip-offs from U.S. authorities -- show anti-terror cooperation spreading along with stepped-up pressure extremists after the Madrid bombings.

How true, Hamtramck used to mean kielbasa and pierogies.

kkNow you've gone and done it. Made me hungry for pierogies and Tony Packo hotdogs.

The area where one of my Aunts lived in Detroit recently became the backdrop area for Emininem's movie. Totally disgusting that it is in such decline. I have such good childhood memories of little shops like "Ada's." I'm sure it's long gone, but my Aunt never went to a major grocery store. She kept the little stores in business when she was alive.
