In case you have been living under a rock and haven't heard about this, a mob of Islamic terrorists dragged the bodies of four American contractors through the streets of Fallujah yesterday in Iraq, and strung two of them from a bridge. This happened after their SUVs were ambushed in a convoy. Very tragic and sickening.

What is also despicable is how the media is covering this. First of all, in the Associated Press story covering the incident, the cold-blooded killers that did this are referred to as "rebels" (instead of Islamic terrorists) and the liberation of Iraq as the "American occupation." They also immediately compare this to what happened in Somalia. Democratic calls to pull out of Iraq as soon as possible are sure to follow. But we're not going to cut and run this time. The difference? President Bush is in office and Bill Clinton is not. The current occupant of the White House does not give into terrorists so easily.

Look for an increase in these attacks. As the coalition gets closer and closer to handing control of Iraq over to its new government Saddam loyalists are going to grow more and more desperate. Middle East despots have a lot to lose if Iraq truly adopts a representative form of government. Iraq has the potential of becoming the dominant and political and economic power in that part of the world.

Fundamentalist Islamic terrorists want none of this ... and they're desperate to prevent it. As you watch the American political season unfold, ask yourself: Who is in the side of freedom for the Iraqi people, and who wants to facilitate their return to live under a dictatorship?

The people who did this need to be located and served with their dirt nap as soon as possible. Oh..and the people who were murdered were providing security for the convoys delivering food to the area. Time for the Iraqis' first American lesson in cause and effect...no more food convoys.

Then maybe they'll change their tune.

I was listening to the news this morning on CBS Radio, out of NYC. The announcer said that "Despite this event, the Bush Administration claims things are going well in Iraq." He said it with such a dismissive tone, as if to say, "Well, what would you expect from this lying administration." (I know I am putting words in his mouth, but he definitely used the expression "the Administration claims....")

After one year, any fair reading of the Iraq situation that considers the totality of the facts, and not one incident, would lend strong credence to that which the Administrations "claims." The people are free from a murderous tyrant, there is a free press, they are about to become self-governing and democratic (a miracle in that part of the world), there is power, there is water, there are working schools, the oil is flowing and the televisions are working. All this despite the determined efforts of Saddam loyalists, imported terrorists and assorted miscreants of every stripe. Compared to Iraq, the de-Nazification of Germany and the occupation of Japan were "quagmires," to use one of the dems' favorite expressions.

The Marines are back in the Fallujah area, and these dead-enders are testing the recently-arrived Marines.

The Marines will deal with this situation accordingly. Remember that the Marines were the troops traditionally sent to occupy foreign countries, because they are especially suited for such as task.

Many of these Marines have been schooled in Arabic, the majority have attended training in Iraqi culture and basic Arabic, as well as guerrilla tactics in Iraq.

My prediction is that the Marines will enter Fallujah at the appropriate time, and they will get rid of the thugs. They know that these Saddam lovers only understand fear and humiliation, and the Marines know how to get under their skin using psyops tailored to the Iraqi culture.

Have Richard Perle drive around Fallujah in a Humvee for 12 hours every day from now until the first Tuesday in November. I can assure you that whatever needs to be done in Fallujah would be done with a vengeance.

For about twenty five years, Saddam and his ilk in Fallujah murdered 300,000 innocent Iraqi's. This would mean 12,000 innocent men, women and children were murdered each year. Those four contractor's who murdered and their bodies desecrated is an example how barbaric Saddam's bunch are. Millions of Iraqi's had to live in fear everyday with these thugs. I wish the press would get that.

The substitute for Rush yesterday played an audio clip and read a transcript of some socialist slime at a California campus, I believe, urging the Iraqis to rise up, fight and throw out the American occupiers, and for American troops to desert as they had in Viet Nam. Kerry's name came up in the context of the type of tactics needed here is similar to those used by him in the 1971 protests.

We must all pray for the families of the four contractors. I cannot imagine how painful it must be for them. The U.S. must react swiftly and decisively. The insurgents have NOT suffered enough.

I had a Kucinich (sp?) supporter tell me with a straight face that had UN peacekeepers been the ones to liberate Iraq, NONE of these attacks on troops would have occurred, and these contractors would not have been killed and mutilated. She seems to think that UN troops would somehow have been better recieved. Stunning idiocy, really.

Yesterday was a dark day for those fighting in Iraq. 5 Marines dead, and four civilian workers killed, mutilated, and publicly desecrated in the Iraqi city of Falluja in the "Sunni Triangle."

The pictures of that horrid incident are revolting, and most news outlets have refused to print or air them.

One exception is the San Diego Union Tribune, which graced this morning's front page with them--above the fold. This sparked an angry debate on the Rick Roberts show on KFMB this morning.

Rick's position, as well as most of his callers, condemned the UT's display of those images. As conservatives, they felt that the reason for using them was to gin up feelings against the war in Iraq. They are no doubt correct. But I differed in my feelings about those pics and decided to shoot Rick an e-mail during his show explaining why I felt as I do. To my suprise, he read my email, verbatim, during the next segment. After doing so, he said that I had given him a completely different perspective on the matter, and that he might have to rethink his position on the matter. Below is the e-mail I sent him:

I'm afraid I have to disagree about the pics. I know the UT put them there to turn opinion against the war, but it is my hope and my belief that it will do the opposite. I have a daughter serving in Iraq right now. And everytime I hear of a bomb going off over there my blood pressure goes up till I find out she is still safe.

After 9/11 the press in this country did its level best to make us forget what happened. They censored the images because they were afraid we couldn't handle it. They were afraid we'd have the proper reaction. They were afraid we'd demand a war on terrorism. On the first anniversary of 9/11 they swept it even further under the rug. They didn't want us lashing out against the Muslims. They helped spread the lie that Islam is a religion of peace, when in fact it is a death cult (I've read the Koran several times and am well versed in middle-eastern history).

Those images on the pages of the UT are important. People here need to see them and get angry. They also need to see the film footage--shown repeatedly around the world, but suppresed here--of the poor victims jumping out of the twin towers and bouncing off the roofs and streets below (not just the occasional still). People are well on their way to forgetting why we’re at war and what the stakes are.

The UT photos should stir up some righteous fury. I believe it will be in favor of prosecuting this war with greater vigor, even though the UT hopes it will go the other way.
