O'Reilly to call for the leveling of Fallujah?
Foxnews ^ | March 31, 2004. | Bill O' Reilly

Posted on 03/31/2004 4:31:20 PM PST by ConservativeMan55

Foxnews host Bill O'Reilly just previewed his show. "Problems continue for the U.S. Military in Fallujah. Why doesn't the U.S. Military just go ahead and level it?"

I have to say that I agree with Bill. Level the place.

Kinda sounds like O'Reilly just invited Ted Koppel over to Fox.

I have a soft spot for Koppel.

Can't the President have such officers who refuse a lawful command be led off in 'cuffs?

What's the lawful order going to be, Final Authority?

If we can't use our power and might to win a battle

And what battle is this?

First I felt no emotion when I viewed those pictures of the Palestinian Mullah or whatever he was.

Yes, it's time for Yassin to quit while he's a head.

Speaking of heads, did you see this?--

"Then the police shot her in the leg, she fell down and then she blew herself up," said Farida. "The woman's head flew over the wall and into the courtyard."

Uzbek Police Storm Militant Hideout; Up to 23 Dead

A home run and a double header... and baseball season hasn't even started.

"You don't need any men to level a town.
Interesting - how would you do it without any troops?"

It is hard to believe anyone could ask that question. Let me help you, Dresden, Tokoyo, Nagasaki, Hiroshima, .....

More hints B52, B1, B2....

More hints ICBM.

I just did email W and demand retribution.

Me too!

I told him to track down the people who did this and to remove them. I told him to go about the completion of the mission in Iraq as it was before.

If you do the above, then you honor all 500 American soldiers who have died in Iraq and you carry out the rage of the Americans here at home who mourn the loss of all of them.

As I posted before. I am glad I am not in charge. I don't have any easy answers. Condemn me all you want I guess.

I'm not condemning you. And I'm not sure there *are* any "easy answers". I was just pointing out that it's easy to fall into double standards if we're not careful.

Yea, but in case you hadn't noticed, they did it to innocents that they packed in there first rather than to a den of vipers yearning for etherial communion with Allah...

Ahh - so we will have troops involved - you said we didn't need any.

How many planes and crews were lost in the Dresden raid? How many were lost in the Tokyo Raid? How many Americans were killed at Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

Here's a question for you - how many American lives are you willing to lose in your operation?

Here's a hint for you - fallout.

Now - get rid of all the anger, and think for a moment. Can you think of a better way? Or are you locked inside of your box?

We went to Iraq for more reasons than just the WMD. The left would like to rewrite history and make that the only reason.

We certainly should do something, but with this current climate in this country, I doubt we will. I blame this on the left who have undermined our ability to carry out what needs to be done. They have put our troops and any other personnel over there in more danger for political gain! Someone needs to be saying this!

It seem some folks think an rpg can knock down a B52. It seems some folks get all afraid like when they see people angry. Well not here, not this Marine. War is Anger. You need not endanger one American to level a city. That is fact.

If radiation scares you when we use it against our enemies, I hate to see your shaking when its used against you.

Actually, we cannot compare the two. It was estimated that a million people would die in an invasion of Japan. The two nukes actually saved lives. There is still an ongoing controversy about the morality of Dresden.

I still stand by my statement that I am glad I am not in charge. However, I cannot advocate the use of nuclear weapons.

"We went to Iraq for more reasons than just the WMD. The left would like to rewrite history and make that the only reason."

Correct.

Plus, let's not forget the unspoken reasons for going into Iraq:

-- To secure locations for long-term US bases in the heart of the Islamofascists.
-- To put the fear of Allah into the governments of Syria and Iran among others.
-- To entice the terrorists to wage their battles in Iraq rather than here.
-- To, and this is a tough one, to hopefully develop a democratic Iraqi government that can take hold. Freedom and democracy have a way of spreading over time.

We all must remember and realize that this war on terror is really a World War that will take years and perhaps decades to wage.

9/11: A call to duty. A call to arms. A call to victory over terrorists and their sponsors. Never forget.

If I have to answer such a question then you haven't a clue. I suspect you are an appeaser siding up to the likes of Kerry but to humor you, as I usually answer the first dumb question posed, I will offer an answer.

The lawful order is to use whatever force is required to completely pacify the inhabitants of a certain city in a certain country that is in a state of war with the USA. If you can't figure this out, where have you been? If the President desires drastic measures as did Truman then the President can order such measures. The President is the commander, not the military, as is stated in the Constitution for these reason precisely, that is, the survival of the nation is the only consideration where warfare is undertaken. Not the honor of a few soldiers, but ultimately, the lives of such soldiers.

To you next question. Terrorism! Where the hell have you been?

Tomas, Tomas, Tomas - I don't think an RPG can knock down a B-52 - I know it can. But the odds of an RPG reaching the altitude of a B-52 are non-existent. Now, depending on how low the aircraft gets, I know an SA-7 can reach one - ask the guys flying that freighter that got hit - or the crew on the C-117. However, having been an aircraft mechanic, I know that there are such things as mechanical failures. I also know that there are danger points throughout any air mission - anything can go wrong - that's why we plan ahead. Do you remember the B-1 we lost when all this started? Crashed into the Indian Ocean, and there were no bad guys anywhere around. So, yeah, we'll put some people in danger when we launch the aircraft. We'll put them in danger when they go against the target too, and they'll be in danger on the flight home as well.

Radiation? That's not the weapon. The weapon is that huge explosion. The radiation is simply a by-product that hangs around for a few years. Now - fallout - that's the scary thing. You remember when that bad Soviet reactor melted down in Chernobyl? They were tracing the fallout (or radiation) around the world. It contaminated feedstocks for some of the Soviets neighbors and they couldn't use the milk from their animals. That's a bad thing, you know. And fallout doesn't care who it falls on - it just falls - that's why it's called "fallout." Now - which way do the prevailing winds in Iraq blow? Let's take a guess and say - east. What's to the east of Iraq and where will that fallout go? Hmmm...my map says that to the east of Iraq is Iran - I'm sure they'll be happy to take the radiation. And to further to the east is - Asia - I bet Turkmenistan will be happy with the fallout too. I bet the Chinese, the Nepalese and the rest of the world will be thrilled too!

Why don't you come to where I live - I can introduce you to a lot of people who know about nuclear weapons and their by-products - they helped build the first bombs here in town. And yeah, nuclear weapons scare the hell out of me - they did back when I helped load them on F-16s, and they do today as well.

War is anger, Tomas? No - anger is emotion - let your emotions override your common sense, and the enemy will play you like a puppet on a string.

Now - can you think of a better way? Or did you skip that part of my post?

I cannot and do not advocate the use of nuclear weapons. I asked about the losses to the Americans to counter Tomas' inference that no lives needed to be put at risk in order to "level the city," when in fact, in his examples, a great number of American lives were lost, despite the losses on the ground.

Like you, I'm glad I'm not in charge.
