FREEPERS: Talk Host Has A Request
Posted on 03/30/2004 6:04:46 PM PST by Doctor Raoul
Dom Giordano of WPHT in Philadelphia just had a great idea. Make a map of the world in blue and red, just like the 2000 Election map. Countries that either have troops in Iraq (23), are cooperating with the "War On Terror" (60) or have leaders publically supportive of Bush would be RED.
The racist in Thailand, the Poodle of Europe (France) and other appeasers would be BLUE.
Someone probably has the graphic capability, so let's supply the information:
1. Name the countries in Iraq
2. Name those cooperating in the :War On Terror"
3. Otherwise supportive of Bush (state reason)
Who are the appeasers?
Who's got the artistic/graphics talent?

You are the 'Raoul' that calls up the show regularly, right? Thank God for "Dom Time", especially on Saturdays! Now that you got the map, try working on getting the stupid sports games off the station. Basketball on the radio...unbelievable!

Can we compare this with the number of countries that supported armed intervention against nazi germany before churchill?
Is there a historian in the house?
I believe the comparison is relevant because the war oppositionists of 2003-2004 are most likely to be the same people who opposed war in the early 1930s when hitler could have been removed and the holocaust prevented. Im sure we all comprehend the parallels between saddam hussein and adolph hitler. Even the sanctions have their parallel in that period.
Removing saddam was like repeating the history of WWII to see what would happen if we had removed hitler before he became that powerful.

If you've included Denmark in the coalition, I think it's fair to include Greenland.

It's a grim world.... we must prepare for the worst. Most of the parts of Eurasia not colored in yet are Red. Same deal with Latin America, execptions being Chile and, thank God, based on the recent election, El Salvador. Africa's a mixed bag, mostly Red.

But let us not forget, in recent survey, 70% of the Thais consider the PRC to be more of an ally than us. Their Vichyist tendency, demonstrated during WW2 via their bootlicking of Japan, is back in full force. We never should have let SEATO die, now we'll pay the price.

I recommend coloring the opposing countries Red since a lot of them favor socialism and communism.

And what about France? The map is supposed to be about countries supporting us in the war on terror, and France is supporting us. They have troops in Afghanistan and have pledged a couple hundred million dollars toward reconstruction in Iraq.

Okay...Israel I'd call a partner of some sort. And I know that you missed Mongolia, which sent a good number of troops (it's just one of those countries that I follow regularly ... interesting weather ... but they are our ally--and a free (Buddhist) country of nomads who despise Islamic terrorists, and they love America, just like the Poles!) Don't forget Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait, countries that have provided significant operational and logistical support.
And you should add a color for "terrorist-controlled regimes." They are Syria, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Libya, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, and part of France. You might want to add Turkmenistan and Myanmar to include the other two totalitarian despotic regimes, as well as Syrian Ba'athist terrorist occupied Lebanon, and (if you choose to recognize it) the West Bank and Gaza Strip ("Palestine" according to some...but that's a debate for another day).
Iraq has a few hundred thousand police officers dedicated to their own liberation. You also missed the Sardenga province of the Republic of Italy, which occupies the island of Sardinia (just south of the French island of Corsica to the west of the Italian peninsula). You also missed the ice-covered Svalbard dependency of Norway, occupying the island of Spitsbergen (it's in the Arctic Ocean, north of Norway).
Moreover, the Danish dependency of Greenland must go as its parent country. And you can include American Puerto Rico. Other than those minor issues, you did a good job.
If you really want to get into it, put a big red splotch in the northeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, near Rwanda. A few million people have been killed there in a horrific war, apparently a spilover from the Hutu-Tutsi genocide in Rwanda in 1994. This horrendous genocidal warfare appears to have abated considerably in the past year, especially in light of plunge in prices for coltan. Money from coltan, an ore found almost exclusively in the Congo used in the manufacture of cellular telephones, fueled the Congolese war. Similarly, drug money funds the horrendous Colombian civil war.

I don't think this would have the visual impact you want. Three of the four largest countries, geographically, are in the Axis of Weasels - Russia, Canada and China. And, especially with a Mercator projection, Russia and Canada would dwarf any red countries.

The colors ARE NOT REVERSED this year (04) as of yet. I just received the map of red and blue states from the GOP for the election.
