How far are we going to let this go? John Kerry getting free airtime on MTV, spewing his rhetoric to the 18-21 year old voters?

I don't know about everyone else, but I am sick and tired of this. I read about it on a another thread, and now MTV is actually showing promos.

I saw the other thread as well...MTV has been and will continue to be a liberal channel. Again, those who watch MTV probably cannot or will not vote anyway...quite a bit of apathy. I also think JFK will tank pretty badly on the show.
If you really want to get angry, check out the link to MTV 'choose or lose' site.

The more people see of Kerry, the less they like him. Let Sen. Lurch scare the kiddies between Britney Spears videos. They'll come running to the Republicans... that is, the 3 pkercent that will actually vote.

Like people who watch MTV will vote.
So, really, who cares what they think?

Don't watch MTV--never have, never will.
In fact, I don't think anyone I know really spends a whole lot of time watching it either. Ah, the joy of having brain cells...

Personally, I don't think this will help Kerry one bit. Most of the mainstream Democrat voters probably aren't viewers of MTV.

I quit watching MTV when they moved away from music and started doing stupid sitcoms and giving rap so much air time

MTV PROMOTING JOHN KERRY?
Where is the outrage? HERE!
To: martinidon
I can see how the network may have had a purpose at the beginning, but now it seems to be this buffet-type channel which goes far outside its original boundaries. And of course, now they try to influence my age group (most of whom aren't voting anyway) by pushing Kerry as the "perfect-and-nothing-really-bad-will-happen" candidate who will "stop doing all the bad things that Bush does."
Not that they understand even a fraction of reality.

MTV's political "coverage" is like Democratic Party Youth Indoctrination.

The more that sour depressing bastard gets on TV and opens his mouth, the more people he turns against him. He makes dogs nauseous.

Yup, and Viacom owns MTV and CBS. Any conservative invested in Viacom should promptly sell. I think an all out boycott of Viacom is needed. If they want to inject themselves in partisan politics, the half of America that doesn't agree with them should make them pay for it.
To: faithincowboys
I don't own stock in Viacom, (wish I did, I'd sell it all in a heartbeat) but I am going to pass this along to all on my email list.
I agree, a boycott of Viacom is way overdue.

While I agree in principal... Viacom is a publicly traded company. If it is in the best interests of it's shareholders then be my guest, but every time FNC 'gets' a new city, the other networks/stations news ratings fall? Too many public companies are controlled by individuals pursuing personal agendas that are not in the best interests of their shareholders.
I am not calling for 'corporate reform', time will eventually heal the system. What baffles me is even with all of the public discussion of these networks trying to 'reach' conservative audiences with their shallow nods to the right, the street hasn't held their feet to the fire.
I think the solution is that the FCC needs to free up the system, and allow alternative operators to provide a-la-carte cable. Hopefully it will break the bundling that allows for the subsidies that keeps these liberal bullhorns afloat.
