Low-Carb diets will lead to a Bush defeat?

Jeff Greenfield, in his end of the show commentary on Inside Politics, surmised that Bush is in trouble come November thanks to Atkins dieters. How does he come to this improbable, and wishful, conclusion?
A study released last week showed that carbohydrate deprived dieters had low levels of serotonin, leading them to be grumpier. And grumpy people tend to vote incumbents out of office.
There are currently fifteen million people on the low-carb Atkins diet, therefore Bush will face the wrath of Grumpy Atkins dieters and be voted out of office in November, at least that's the way Jeff Greenfield see it.

He's right. I was about to write a check to the DNC when I ate a bagel and came to my senses.

Shouldn't all that weight loss make people happier? Losing 50 lbs in 3 months has made me ecstatic.

e wrath of Grumpy Atkins dieters The wrath of this grumpy Atkins dieter is directed against the obstructionist rats in congress and the lying, stinking media. I'm voting for Bush and I'll walk barefoot over broken glass if I have to, to do it!

The above is probably some silly statement made after a show, but in finance (especially international markets) a whole lot of funny variables are added. Some of them seem stupid at first but they are not.
However what the dude is saying here is not a real variable. Why? Because there is no data showing it is statistically significant.

I used to have horrible mood swings, going on Atkins removed them and gave me tons more energy. I can't believe this report has gotten so much public play.

I have always preferred the Pritikin Diet of complex carbohydrates.
Eating whole grains and lots of fruits and veggies delivered the way nature intended is a no-brainer.
Lean meats like turkey, fish and chicken are the most healthy.
Beef kills.

If anything, many, if not most, of the anti-Atkins folks are nothing but whiners in the mold of the commie-libs!

I am a diabetic (treating it by diet and exercise). I have to eat only complex Carbs and certain veggies and fruits only plus lots of protein and believe me the difference is incredible. I have more energy and feel so much more healthier than when I ate Pastas and White Flour breads. I can't eat white potatoes either or corn but I don't miss them at all anymore.

Unfortunately, even this stupid comment by Greenfield would be sage advice coming out of Bill Schneider's mouth. His "Political Plays of the Week" are agitprop at best.

Jeff Greenfield came up with an original thought, and decided to put it out on the air. He gets so few original thoughts these days, and being the leftie he is, he can't bear to think about a Republican victory...so whatever creativity he might generate necessarily is anti-conservative.

I'm down about 18 in two and have lots of energy. I weigh less than I did when I retired from the military in 1991.

Question for the Atkins fans: If you don't follow the diet generally, will you gain less weight from pigging out in one meal if you stick to cheese and proteins and avoid carbs?
