WASHINGTON, March 9 (UPI) -- Sen. John Kerry's campaign Tuesday gave U.S. President George W. Bush an award he didn't want for losing more jobs than any U.S. president since Herbert Hoover.

Kerry Campaign Chairwoman Jeanne Shaheen announced the symbolic and satirical presentation of a fictitious "Herbert Hoover Award" to the president Tuesday, the day he was honoring quality leaders in U.S. business at the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality awards.

One appreciative matron compared the original Rubirosa to, I believe, a restaurant pepper mill. For the new recipient, I think a salt packet from Burger King will do.

The Bush campaign should give Kerry a pair of FLIP-FLOP shoes.

How about a pair of dice award. No matter how you throw them kerry's number always comes up. Just like his issues. No matter what issue comes up kerry is for it.

"The Bush campaign should give Kerry the Lenin Award."

P>What? Reduce their intellectual debate on public policy and national issues to the gutter level of personal insults?

These Dems never quit. . .make political whine re their dogged attempts at keeping the campaign focused on issues.

Issue, mind you. . .they really try to keep their rhetoric beyond those 'cheap shots' that keep pulling down the debate. . .

And surely it is the least we can do, to make nice like the Kerry people.

This is what the lib socialist lawyer I trade barbs with has to say

You have your numbers wrong. Unemployment was 4.2% when Clinton left office. It was 7.3% when he took office in 1992. The 5.6% rate you ascribe to Clinton was the rate at the end of his first term.

Overall, unemployment went from 7.3% to 4.2% under Clinton. It has gone from 4.2% to 5.6% under Bush.

When it comes to jobs, Bush is far worse than was Hoover. Still, he is the only president since Hoover to go an entire term without an increase in jobs. His net loss is about 2million jobs, and that is not a good number any way you slice it.

If some one can put together a rebuttal I'd appreciate it. I'm in over my head on this one. I understand the bare basics, but not the nitty gritty.

Quote from George Clinton:

"My brother has a nose like a Hoover."

Gee, I think Bill and Monica were the first ones that got the "Hoover" award...

Kerry's PR machine is working overtime lately. The ratio of stories from their amp has to be outnumbering GWB's by at least a 7-1 margin. His shoulder surgery, his stand on corporate taxes, his Bible quote speech, his accusations about the 9-11 testimony of Rice, his "dead-end built on a road of broken promises" speech, the 10-million jobs promises... Here's to hoping the Joe SixPack matches my Kerry-fatigue by September (if not sooner, just to relieve us all if/when the Kerry camp tones it down in response!)

"This sounds like a bunch of damn kids with too much time on their hands."

Right. . .shouldn't Kerry be spending time on his 'budget'. . .his 'plan for America'? The one that has yet to materialize save in his rhetoric.

Amazing he had time for his Iowa photo/op. Seems he could have used that time to take care of that nagging shoulder pain. . .but then he probably did not have a problem until that nasty fall; not those those clumsy falls, that were 'not reported'; the other one. . .where his "SOB' Secret Service Agent made him fall.

Oh, that's right; I forgot; this was an old injury. . .when he was just a young soldier. . .on the campaign trail.

Actually, it was Roger. If he has another half brother named George, it would not surprise me. His mom was very busy in the back seat of that '40 Ford.

Basically assaulting Bush for being sworn into office soon after the Dot-Com bubble burst and a wave of corporate dishonesty scandals, and just before the worst terrorist attacks in modern history. Intriguing.

DARN that Pope Clement V for being in office during the Black Plague!

No, that was Roger Clinton. The quote from George Clinton was, "Tear the roof off, we gonna tear the roof off that mutha, sucka! Ow, we want that funk, give up the funk!"
