FLIP-FLOPPING AWAY (Kerry voted against the very foreign investment reforms he's now "proposing")
US Senate Records ^ | 3/27/2004 | John Kerry's Record

Posted on 03/27/2004 10:52:30 AM PST by Steven W.

Hanoi John French Kerry now proposes dealing with foreign investments and US Corporations - the only problem is that when he had a chance to make a difference and vote for such legislation, he voted against it! Now he's flip-flopped again and purports to support the very same kind of legislation he previously voted against!

Here's the record of interest:

U.S. Senate Roll Call Votes 108th Congress - 1st Session: S.Amdt. 622 to S. 1054 (Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003 ) Statement of Purpose: To encourage the investment of foreign earnings within the United States for productive business investments and job creation

This further proves Hanoi John French Kerry is not a man with any original idea or principle, he is simply a another Massachussettes politician of epic contortions. When John Ensign proposed legislation of exactly the same form as Kerry now "proposes", he voted against it! And this time it can be said, When it came to addressing the tax implications of foreign interests of US companies, John Kerry Voted Against it BEFORE AND AFTER he voted against it

A lot of people are going to vote for Kerry (in opinion polls) before they vote against Kerry (in the ballot booth).

It's like talking to a teenager. Two months later he thinks he has come up with that great idea and wants the credit for it.(of, course I encourage my teen) But I don't want a "teenage mind" leading my country.

ENSIGN LAYS BLAME FOR OUTSOURCING ON CONGRESS, NOT COMPANIES

March 24, 2004

Washington, D.C. – Senator John Ensign, in a speech on the floor of the United States Senate this morning, said government, not corporate, policies should be the focus of assertions of economic stagnation and high unemployment, as well as the discussion of outsourcing. Ensign made the remarks during his speech advocating passage of the Invest in the USA Act.

“When it comes to the effort to boost the economy, our tax policies put American companies at an overwhelming disadvantage,” Ensign said. “French, Chinese, Australian, Canadian, British, and German companies can bring back foreign assets to their countries at a tax rate of 0%. American companies pay 35%. If we’re concerned about outsourcing, we should look at the policies created by the Congress before pointing fingers at American corporations.”

The Invest in the USA Act would provide a temporary window during which American companies could re-invest assets currently held in foreign countries back into the United States. It is conservatively estimated that the bill would provide a $400 billion infusion for the American economy and create 660,000 new jobs.

“We must not turn our backs on an opportunity to create a $400 billion economic boost and 660,000 new jobs for American workers,” Ensign said. “It is time to allow our business leaders and entrepreneurs to compete on a level field with their foreign counterparts.”

Cut the damned taxes already!

Have you seen the article about how the European Union and Kerry are trying to influence OUR election and OUR economy by keeping tariffs high in key swing states?

Further proof that KERRY is the PERFECT Democrat candidate. It doesn't matter what he does ONLY what he says UNLESS of course he changes his mind, then that just shows he is OPEN-MINDED and EVOLVING.
