[history]
March 26, 2004 -- For Caribbean-Americans, it's the day the music died. Starting Wednesday, Air America Radio - the so-called "liberal radio network" that will feature talk shows hosted by Al Franken and Janeane Garofalo - will displace WLIB's Caribbean-centric programming at 1190 AM.

I don't think it's racism, but I do consider it to be abuse of the public of the highest order.

It IS true. Saturday and Sundays were the 'Caribbean music and culture' allotment slots aside from the regular stuff during the week. Saturdays one can listen to the music, get the cricket games AND WHERE IN AMERICA DO THEY BROADCAST CRICKET GAMES?! I used to call Gary Imhotep Byrd to debate him LOL. THAT is someone who hates dealing with facts. BUT I digress :-) I knew WLIB was going down when they started pulling his show and a few others.

Black conservative pingIf you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)
Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

WLIB refused to change with the times. Gary Imhotep still spewed his own crap year after year. The morning show at the Apollo used to be great. I stopped listening during the week to the regular American programming because it started making 99.5 WBAI look conservative! I could NEVER get on the Mark Riley show because they never took conservative callers. Well here is the end result when you cater to the peanut gallery. What I would have done was have black conservative talk radio. For some reason WABC dropped Larry Elder (too Californian laid back) but have him, Ken Hamblin even (whose mother is from Jamaica) believe with the angry black people and all the white callers calling in they would have had all the ad demographics they needed.

What a perfect call sign -
WLIB - home of the
Wacky
Liberals.
ULIB - Home of the Ultra Liberals would have been better, but no one would be able to hear them from Uzbekistan, but then again, nobody wants to.
And who is going to advertise on this network,
- Bungee Condoms? Sorry, Rush already has that account.
- The Josef Mengele Womens Health Zenter - Combining womens needs with an eastern mystical respect for life
- Bush Whackers - a drinking establishment for liberals - home of the Teddy Kennedy million dollar bar tab.
- Pinque - a fun bathhouse for Barney and the boys.
- etc.

It will be funny if the first few calls that Al Franken gets on the air are from angry Caribbean-Americans.

Here is a PR/money opportunity for Rush. He could buy out time on another station and offer them the same format.
To: kattracks
WLIB's listenership may have been loyal, but it was too small to allow the station to make enough ad revenue.LOL LOL LOL! As if Franken and his socialist goons are going to generate enough ad revenue to keep the format afloat! LOL
He'll be blaming the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy (of which I am a proud member - hee hee!) for the cancellation of his show in under a year.

Background....
LIB is owned by Inner City Broadcasting which is owned by, among others, Percy Sutton & Family, Davis Dinkins, Jesse Jackson...They are no more than a NYC Dem machine (Harlem branch) propaganda outlet. Their listnership can be counted in the thousands, in spite of their premier location.

Even better, get rush to read off West Indies cricket scores, he will pick up a small, but useful audience in NY ...
