Last Friday night I had a chance to head into the big city (Atlanta) for a little culture. I have three young children at home and it was a rare opportunity for me to venture out of Suburbia.....

Harley made campaign contributions to Bush.

You encountered one of the dreaded RUBbies. The Rising Urban Bikers. These are usually johnny-come-lately types who got their Harley recently, ride mybe 1K miles a year, wear long haired wigs and phony transfer tattoos. They are a huge joke amongst the real crowd who proudly fly the flag. The group that has experienced a very high death rate due to their new hobby.

You are very brave. I stopped spending any money in the city (blue zone) a number of years ago.
To: Gator113
I hear you! One of my husband's band mates owns a few Harleys and he is more conservative than me so I know I was sweeping with a broad brush!

And Atlanta is, relative to others on both coasts, a "conservative" city! Here in the occupied Gay Area, we are on the verge of circling the wagons and digging trenches!

A long time biker I know says that the newbies are dangerous to ride with. They are inevidabley 55 and over and need training wheels.

If the numbers are correct, sixty percent of all boomer males vote Republican. I read some article the other day by Kyle Williams accusing boomers of stealing his future. He castigated Kerry for being a typical liberal boomer. He's right that Kerry is a lib, but he's not a boomer. He was born before 1946. Sorry Kyle, you'll have to find some other scapegoat.

All in all, one of the reasons I love this area is because it is very conservative, but every once in a while I come across a lib and actually, I enjoy torturing them.
