CNN showed him getting in a limo on his way. :) Good. Now we must pray that his limo makes it.

Berger:"This country was not ready to invade Afganistan before Sept 11."
But Bosnia was more of a threat to our national security?
The backtracking is so obvious and lies are so thick, its laughable.
To: TomGuy
Kerry is pounding on Berger, BUT Bureger is saying the same thing that Rumsfeld said, invasion of Afghanistan was not possible , for a lot of valid reasons, BEFORE Sept 11, 2001!

"Berger - We could have used all these things, bombing, use force, etc.---but uh we didn't do anything."
Excellent recap, TG. Now we have Roemer up to try and rehab Berger. Good luck with that.

Wasn't there something mentioned previously about a nasty memo from Clarke to Condi. It had something to do with his trying to keep her out of the meetings or off the list of those that would get copies of memos. Does anyone have anything further on this? All I've heard about memoes between them was from Condi to Clarke in February 2001 informing him they've been having meetings that he hasn't been attending and his presence is requested.

That is NOT what Berger said. He said he didn't know, that he didn't know the "sequence" of their meetings.
I'm not sure what you are commenting on.
Berger did say he discussed al-Qaeda with Condi in their first meeting (and I assume that would have been during the transition period between administrations). The questioner followed up a bit later and Berger reaffirmed that they discussed al-Qaeda in all 3 meetings they had.

Does anyone know if CNN or anyone else besides FNC has covered this story?
Also, we need to e-mail and call CBS. That's an e-mail I cannot wait to write. Hah!

But don't ask me what I had for breakfast! lol
I think it's all part of the same schtick. Ben-Veniste is still on that circuit.
This reality is based on a fictional book, too.
Long ago, my family was Democrat. I've tried periodically to see if I could be one again. It just can't happen. There is no piece of truth in any of their speech or actions.
Rumsfeld was just real and grown-up yesterday. There isn't a dem alive who is real. Once upon a time there were some earnest idealists among their number. No more. Not after the Clintons' collected everyone of their souls.

I saw and heard 3 of the commission members on TV last night saying that they had known Clarke for years and that he was VERY credible. LOL

Please tell me about the Hannity interview in 2000! Last night Hannity played an interview with Condi Rice from 2000 - I believe the interviewer was a Denver talk radio show host. Condi was discussing AlQaeda and said something along the lines, "if we don't deal with them directly then we'll inevitably end up facing them here and seeing some kind of tragedy akin to Khobar Towers or the African Embassies right here on our home soil".
Hearing this enlightened me to something I saw a poster on FR mention last night & I elaborated on further in prior post - I believe Clarke is likely a closet racist who can't handle working for a black woman no less. Note his original anger was exclusively reserved and directed at her and only later redirected towards Bush. Since Clinton only used Betty Currie as his madame and Vermin Jordan as his personal pimp, the highest ranking person of color in the Clinton administration was probably Omerosa of Donald Trump fame; now Clarke was faced with not only getting the jobs he thought he was primed for, he had to work for Condi and was ultimately demoted by her. The prior FR poster noted that it was interesting the first inference Clarke had of Condi was that she was stupid and noted that seemed to be born of some kind of inherent racist attitude.
To: TomGuy
Oh! I was referring to the question put to him to about whether or not he had any idea whether Clarke was lying when he said Condi Rice didn't know about AQ.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
