Dems Hiss GOP Punch Line (You'll never believe what the girlymen are whining about NOW...!)
New York Daily News ^ | 3/24/04 | Maggie Haberman

Posted on 03/24/2004 2:35:13 AM PST by KentTrappedInLiberalSeattle

Democrats were crying foul yesterday after a Bush campaign official managed to cross-reference Vietnam and "Seinfeld" in criticizing an ad for John Kerry.

"John Kerry's campaign seems to be summed up this way: 'I went to Vietnam, yada yada yada, I want to be President," Bush campaign spokesman Terry Holt told The Washington Post.

Holt's swipe came as a put-down to a new ad by the Massachusetts senator touting his war hero status. On the TV sitcom "Seinfeld," "yada yada" was shorthand for information someone would rather gloss over.

Kerry spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter immediately demanded an apology, and former Sen. Max Cleland (D-Ga.), who lost both legs and his right arm in the Vietnam War, went ballistic.

"I think it's despicable," Cleland said. "It seemed the impact, or the intent [of the comment], was to say, 'Hey, I'm a Vietnam veteran and that's my main qualification to be President.'"

He pointed out that President Bush didn't serve in Vietnam, and said, "When you trash one of my fellow Vietnam veterans ... you're trashing me and my 3.5million fellow veterans who [served]."

But Bush campaign spokesman Kevin Madden told the Daily News: "John Kerry is running an ad that never mentions his 19-year Senate record ... one of higher taxes and a weak national defense."

Cutter zinged back: "Perhaps George Bush's campaign can be summed up this way: 'I lost 3 million jobs, turned record surpluses into record deficits, denied affordable health care and prescription drug coverage to most Americans, yada yada yada, four more years.'"

Kerry's Grandfather committed SUICIDE at a Boston Hotel Lobby by SHOOTING himself in the HEAD!!!

That would help explain some of Kerry's problems....suicide is the most SELFISH thing a person can do!

"I think it's despicable," Cleland said. "It seemed the impact, or the intent [of the comment], was to say, 'Hey, I'm a Vietnam veteran and that's my main qualification to be President.'" As they said in Seinfeld:

"Not that there's anything wrong with that!"

Well said.

The point is, however well they served in uniform, that doesnt qualify them to represent us in office. Both men are liberals and socialists, and they will act as such in office.

Wrapping themselves in their war service is a sorry enough substitute for real national security credentials, but they make it worse when they whine about truthful representations of their campaign.

Kerry may have spent 4 months acting like he was fighting communists,

but he sure spent the next 35 years promoting the communist agenda.

No, Max. No question Kerry is a Vietnam vet. No question Kerry needs trashing and is going to be trashed. You can take it personally if you want, but many of your fellow Vietnam Vets are doing the trashing.

He pointed out that President Bush didn't serve in Vietnam, and said, "When you trash one of my fellow Vietnam veterans ... you're trashing me and my 3.5million fellow veterans who [served]."

Then Kerry called you a war criminal, and all the 3.5 million fellow veterans, war criminals. Get off it, dimwit.

Cleland deserves much praise for making a career after losing his limbs. but he was no war hero.

Kerry and Cleland aren't war heros. Kerry was always a traitor, and while I respect Cleland's(NOT Kerry's) service for doing his duty, his anti-freedom and gun grabbing voting record in the senate was unpatriotic and he was a lousy senator.

My dad served in the Army(and puts Kerry there with Klinton). He did his duty(more than Kerry) and did it well. He said he wasn't a war hero, but he did his duty as a soldier.

Bob Dole was a war hero. Teddy Roosevelt was a war hero. Medics are war heros.

'I went to Vietnam, yada yada yada, I want to be President'

Reminds me of when a photographer took a photo of Kerry as he was talking to a group of students during the New Hampshire Primary and inadvertently photographed the back of one student's shirt showing Psycho Chihuahua with the message: Your mouth keeps moving, but all I hear is "BLAH, BLAH, BLAH"
Psycho Chihuahua and John F'n Kerry
