Dems Hiss GOP Punch Line (You'll never believe what the girlymen are whining about NOW...!)
New York Daily News ^ | 3/24/04 | Maggie Haberman

Democrats were crying foul yesterday after a Bush campaign official managed to cross-reference Vietnam and "Seinfeld" in criticizing an ad for John Kerry.

"John Kerry's campaign seems to be summed up this way: 'I went to Vietnam, yada yada yada, I want to be President," Bush campaign spokesman Terry Holt told The Washington Post.

Holt's swipe came as a put-down to a new ad by the Massachusetts senator touting his war hero status. On the TV sitcom "Seinfeld," "yada yada" was shorthand for information someone would rather gloss over.

Kerry spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter immediately demanded an apology, and former Sen. Max Cleland (D-Ga.), who lost both legs and his right arm in the Vietnam War, went ballistic.

"I think it's despicable," Cleland said. "It seemed the impact, or the intent [of the comment], was to say, 'Hey, I'm a Vietnam veteran and that's my main qualification to be President.'"

He pointed out that President Bush didn't serve in Vietnam, and said, "When you trash one of my fellow Vietnam veterans ... you're trashing me and my 3.5million fellow veterans who [served]."

But Bush campaign spokesman Kevin Madden told the Daily News: "John Kerry is running an ad that never mentions his 19-year Senate record ... one of higher taxes and a weak national defense."

Cutter zinged back: "Perhaps George Bush's campaign can be summed up this way: 'I lost 3 million jobs, turned record surpluses into record deficits, denied affordable health care and prescription drug coverage to most Americans, yada yada yada, four more years.'"

"...former Sen. Max Cleland (D-Ga.), who lost both legs and his right arm in the Vietnam War..."

They keep trying to gloss over HOW Cleland suffered his wounds: someone dropped a grenade, he went to pick it up, discovered the pin had been misplaced...
It could just as easily have happened at Fort Benning, and it still would have been "during" the Viet Nam War.

But that doesn't make it a combat wound, and Max Cleland is no "hero."

So I'm sure Cleland will agree that John Kerry, in his efforts to purposely undermine Vietnam and its soldiers, also crossed him and his "3.5million" brothers.???

SO now I expect the media will find people who resent Kerry using Vietnam in a campaign commercial and put them on TV.

Yeah right /sarcasm

Ridicule will make this campaign such fun! I think Freepers are helping with this attitude. Instead of whining, we're turning the Dems' campaign into laughable irrelevancy.

Ann Coulter totally nails Cleland in this column. Exposes how the Rats are using him and his injuries for political gain.

Having the "presence" of mind to get a movie camera while in country (Vietnam) and film reenactments of his gun fights, and continue the rest of his life to play and replay those movies, does call into question "sanity".

Then to go over the cliff and use those movies he had time to make in Vietnam now for his campaign for president is "bizarre".

Should read: and former Sen. Max Cleland (D-Ga.), who lost both legs and his right arm while drinking beer in Vietnam while the war was going on in that country, went ballistic.

Kerry's spokeswoman Cutter has a deeply emotional mental problem. Perhaps it best could be explained by her party being out of power the last 4 years. Let's keep it that way!

Hey Cleland, you piece of dog dung. I socialize with 40 or 50 Vietnam Vets hopefully weekly, but sometimes monthly, riding Harleys, and if we could, we'd have a lottery to see which one of us got the priviledge to smack the marxism out of you.

It's true. Can't remember the source, but Kerry got a camera and had one of his crew members film him in 'action', that is, re-enacting action. How else would these film clips exist? Supposedly he likes to watch them himself when he is at home in Boston.

When Democrats attack, it's campaigning.

When Republicans campaign, it's attacking.

It's a doublespeak thing.

... say it again, Sam ...

When Democrats attack, it's campaigning.

When Republicans campaign, it's attacking.

It's a doublespeak thing.
