KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) -- Reports that the FBI monitored John Kerry's anti-war activities in the early 1970s are both "a badge of honor" and a troubling example of government intrusion into peaceful and legitimate protest, a Kerry spokesman said Monday.

If Bush uses this effectively- this could sink him..
In every debate retort that he was at a meeting that discussed the killing of congressmen...is that a badge of honor and a form of peaceful protest..

First strike to define Kerry's VVAW experience in light of growing awareness of the Senator assassination vote. Signal to establishment media to close out investigation.
Could come back to bite Kerry. His obvious dancing around the vote might make it seem as if he was hiding the issue.

The fact that Kerry's group contemplated the assassination of Congress members completely rebukes his notion of peaceful protests of the war. Kerry should stay in Ketchup, Idaho.

Reports that the FBI monitored John Kerry's anti-war activities in the early 1970s are both "a badge of honor" and a troubling example of government intrusion into peaceful and legitimate protest... I would like Kerry to receive the ultimate Badge of Honor for his participation in peaceful, legitimate votes to kill congressmen. He'd look great in the stainless steel commemorative bracelets.
"Revealed in page after page of FBI reports is the portrait of John Kerry at age 27 speaking with courage and conviction, leading veterans to Washington for peaceful protests, advocating nonviolent protests and moderation," spokesman David Wade said.
With courage and conviction, John Kerry voted NOT to kill federal officers holding the position he was to hold in coming years. He advocated the NON-VIOLENT approach. BRAVO, Senator Kerry.
The Los Angeles Times, in a story published Monday,...
How fast did this come out? Sounds like they knew about the puff piece and were desperately trying to spread the puff around the country to head off the truth coming out.

Yes, the FBI file would be a badge of honor to any communist dupe. It meant, they were doing their job to subvert democracy.

"... troubling example of government intrusion into peaceful and legitimate protest ..." You know, like peacefully debating the assassination of sitting United States Senators. Why would the FBI care about that?

How about someone asking Senator Kerry an innocent question?
"Senator Kerry, would you support a peaceful gathering in which anti-war activists took a vote on whether or not to murder you and some of your fellow senators?"

"That the Hoover FBI and the Nixon White House paid such attention to John Kerry is both a badge of honor and a reminder of that difficult pre-Watergate era in our country," Wade said. Kerry going to Paris and negoting a separate peace with North Vietnam and the Viet Cong is a reminder that the FBI had its reasons. That the VVFW discussing assassinations is a reminder that the FBI had its reasons.

'Twasn't Annapolis. My guess is OCS.

This is actually good news. The story is getting out there. Now that it has been acknowledged that the FBI was watching him, questions about that surveillance can be asked.

Except for the less peaceful part when John Kerry at age 27 and others debated the assassination of public figures.
Funny the reporter should omit that part.
