Spike Lee: Larry Bird Most Overated Player in NBA History.

I just caught a clip of this on ESPN and couldn't help but notice the similarities between what Spike Lee said and that of what Rush said. Not only did he say Bird was the most overated player, he said that the "white media" would make you think that there were no great players before Larry Bird. I could tell that McKindry was uncomfortable with the story and it's going to be interesting to see how other's respond. Maybe we can get a comment from Isiah Thomas and Dennis Rodman who said that if Bird was a black man, he'd be just another average B-ball player.

Let's see how many sports reporters call up Bird and ask him for a reaction. Let's ask Bill Walton if he'll publicly trash Spike the way Tom Jackson trashed Rush.
I think a letter/e-mail to ESPN is appropriate asking them what the difference is between Spike's comments and Rush's other than the race of the accuser and the accused.

Spike hates the white people that made him rich:)Lee is a gutter rat magically transformed into a human, but slowly regressing back to his true form.

Ironic...Spike Lee does a Rush Limbaugh. Both should stick to what they know. Rush knows football like Micheal Jackson knows fatherhood. Spike Lee knows basketball like Martha Stewart knows legal strategy.
What is it about famous people that they believe expertise and skill in one area is generally transferable to other areas?

Just wondering.........why would spike Lee have a valued opinion about basketball?
It wouldn't be like a race thing would it?
Naa, couldn't be.

Do the Right Thing was an excellent film, but that was 15 or so years ago, and he hasn't filmed anything worth watching since then imo, just making a living on the reputation he earned with that movie.
I'd definitely say that Spike Lee is more overrated than Bird is.

Find me another guy that was as good a person off the Court as he was a player on the court Dennis Rodman.

Larry Bird has three NBA Championship rings. How many Super Bowl rings did that QB from Philly have?

Over the top stereotypes, moronic dialog, but then again anything with Veronica Webb is a masterpiece-she is beautiful.

Below is what I sent ESPN right after I saw this.
I can not believe that you have not challenged the racist comments by Spike Lee this morning on your show about Larry Bird. I am outraged being a minority myself how Rush Limbaugh has become the butt of all jokes when he made a statement similar to this about Donovan McNabb. I would expect that ESPN would not allow racist statements to be made by any guests even if they are a minority. I am very disappointed in the network for not pulling the plug on the interview or making a statement condemning these remarks

Lets set the record straight here....number one, without any doubt is Bill Russell, period. Number two, without any doubt is Kareem. Number three, without any doubt is Larry Bird. After that comes Mr. Chamberlain as number four. Magic and Micheal Jordan can fight out number 5 and 6. And you'd have to let Oscar Robertson have the 7nd position, with Jerry West as number 8. Pettit and Cousy can fight out 9 and 10.
As for why Mr. Russell is number one...he was a players player. He made the entire team look good. He was not into selfish basketball. And if you look at his attitude...he was a gentleman on and off the court.

Spike Lee is a racist. I'm happy to say I've never wasted a single minute watching any of his movies.
Larry Bird was a great basketball player who spectacularly overachieved with his limited physical talent. Bird epitomized total concentration, hustle, and heart as the keys to victory. Magic Johnson may have been a slightly better player, but they were both great, as Magic would be the first to tell you.

Spike(sheldon) Lee is the most over rated director in the movie industry. Most people are tired of his coproremetic outbursts.
