I was just thinking the same thing. I can guaran-damn-tee you that if it HAD happened, the networks would have been CROWING about it! They were all for anything that humiliated our military in Vietnam, to the point that the Tet Offensive, which was a VICTORY for the US was treated as a defeat, and that's how most people think of it to this day because that is the impression they got from watching the news during that time.
