Southern California Members of Free Republic Rally at Hollywood and Highland in Hollywood, California
in Support of President George Bush and The Members of Our Military
Saturday - March 20th, 2004
RonDog and company planned this event and did an excellent job. Early on Ron discussed issues on site with the police in advance of the full rally.
There was a very large police presence on scene. They were friendly and helped out several times.
All photos below have blowup links proved just below. Reasonable and obscene fairly accurately describes what you'll get with a click of the mouse.
Reasonable / Obscene - Reasonable / Obscene
In addition to the motor officers, there was a mounted contingent on scene. Overhead a continous airborne presence was maintained.
Reasonable / Obscene - Reasonable / Obscene
It was great to be able to look around and see some of the icons that reinforce our values. Our protesters came with signs and lots of energy.
Reasonable / Obscene - Reasonable / Obscene
On site today was a mobile resource in support of the U.S. and Israel. Some of the best signs I've seen at our protests were present as well.
Reasonable / Obscene - Reasonable / Obscene
Our group was on message and loud enough to be heard quite well at the intersection. Chants in support of Bush, our Troops and the Police were voiced.
Reasonable / Obscene - Reasonable / Obscene
A
s the A.N.S.W.E.R. rally closed in on the intersection, the police installed a cordon in front of our group, to keep the two groups appart.
Reasonable / Obscene - Reasonable / Obscene
Then the full brunt of the march hit the intersection at Hollywood and Highland. It's about all I could do to keep my breakfast down at this point.
Reasonable / Obscene - Reasonable / Obscene
While some folks may think A.N.S.W.E.R.'s only concern is with our military involvement in Iraq, it's quite evident that is NOT all that's on their agenda.
Reasonable / Obscene - Reasonable / Obscene
Check out the Palestinian flags here. The one on the right supports a free Palestine. Note the photo on the right. Here's one more issue on the agenda.
Reasonable / Obscene - Reasonable / Obscene
Yes A.N.S.W.E.R. is an international organization. Here's the back of a sign that I flipped horizontally for presentation here.

I'll be posting a few videos a little further down in this thread. Check back in.
Folks, this was a great represenation of support for Bush. I spent most of the afternoon mingling with supporters of the left, so that I could take
some photographs of our group from across the street. The reaction to our group was a pleasure to hear.
A number of times the leftists near me reacted with "No Way!", upon seeing our signs and hearing our chants. Inside I was chuckling to myself.
Others discussed the idea of conservatives being out there. Of course the usual comments by leftists were made. I don't have to repeat them here.
There were some debates between competing concerns out there. One leftist that was particularly loud and upset, was a hoot to watch.
Surprisingly, of the group that congregated around him, just about everyone laughed at him rather than supported him. Tourists from Asia
seemed to be facinated by the street drama. They were also quite happy to offer up a smile and a wink at the rediculous stance of this leftist.
I'll make some additional comments down the thread. I'd like to get this up.
Did I mention that RonDog deserves a lot of credit and congratulations on a job well done for today's showing?
Way to go RonDog!

What bothers me is that we don't have more people on the street than these goofballs hawking socialist tripe. It's a national scandal that they can get the numbers they do, and we go lacking.

So the march began...I left my post taking care of some of the filth that were attacking and pushing the Christians proclaiming the word of Christ...Before I left the Hollywood/Vine location, we had to be protected by our fine men and women from the LAPD, from these so-called peace-loving, maggot infested communists in Che Guevera clothing.
I lifted my sign high and turned the bullhorn up to "kill" and traversed the mob. I was pushed and threatened, harassed and intimidated. I must admit at times my emotion got the best of me and I warned a few punks that I would in short order "knock you out", or "let's you and I step around the block and 'talk'".
There was a group called "code pink", a bunch of men-haters and bull-dykes who had some muslim women carrying a coffin representing I guess dead muslims...I taunted them, calling them "baby murderers" and calling the muslim women "anti-semite Jew killers"...I singled people out for their various stupidity and called them on it with the precious bullhorn...More intimidation and threats ensued, yet I continued forth undaunted, in fact exuberant at the chance to call these scum-of-the-earth what they were, COMMUNISTS scumbags and the human filth of humanity. I told them "your people are worse than Nazis and communism has killed over 100,000,000 people".
I made it annoyingly well known to the sheeple -- in a way they will never forget -- that "Bush liberated 50,000,000 people, 50,000,000 people Bush liberated"...I then did my rendition of Martin Luther King Jr., "FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST, GOD ALMIGHTY BUSH FREED THE IRAQI PEOPLE AT LAST"...That ended up being my favorite chant and was the most inciteful of the chants I used.
The story continues if you haven't had enough...Shall I?

Looks like your varmint hunting was much more successful than mine! Really wish I could have been there.
This was the first time I participated on one of these things, but it certainly won't be the last :), it was an amazing experience. Personally, I think we did a great job; We were hugely outnumbered, but we stood our ground, and they really got angry at us (it was not not JUST plain anger, it was more like "foaming at the mouth" kind of anger). The LAPD did a fantastic job keeping us safe.

March 20, 2004 Rally for "Peace" sponsored by the UPJ and ANSWER
We FReeped it! Several NE area Freepers make the trek down to NYC. Myself, bostonianrightist, jacket, djjava, and tohellwithpoverty all met in Madison Park to mingle with the crowds. We were joined by three native New Yorkers including a soldier home on leave from Iraq.
We were a total of eight in all. Walking around in a parade of 30,000 people (NYPD estimate). With our signs we were easy targets for verbal attacks. The worst of which was directed at BR who was holding an American flag. The "peace lover" walked by and said "be careful, you're carrying something flamable!"
In all, there's not a lot more to report. It was just the usual suspects. But the one shocking thing were the signs. They seem to have taken a turn for the worst. There were a number of signs accusing Bush of knowing about 9/11 and letting it happen. And some comparing the NYPD to Nazis. All the kind of stuff that makes you proud to be an American...

WELCOME to Free Republic, markv840!As we like to say around here, you are NOT alone. :o)
Check out this group of GOOD GUYS in
New York, from
www.pardonmyenglish.com:
It was 216 miles to New York, we had a full tank of gas, rally signs, it was sunny, and we were wearing our Bush-Cheney buttons. The four of us (Free Republic member Javene, Tyler from Pardon My English and Matt from MattMargolis.com), hit the road from Boston around 7:30 am, on our way to be the voice of reason, counter protesting the anti-American socialist organization, International Answer.
We arrived in New York City around 11:30am, parked the car, and went to the beginning of the protest, at Madison Avenue between 23rd and 34th Streets. Before hitting the corner of the block we were set to start marching from, independent reporters were sticking microphones in front of us asking us questions, and taking pictures of our rally signs. We kindly answered their questions (even though most of them were from Socialist Papers that will like twist and tort our words). We then met up with our fellow Freeper, James, who was already there, who has already met another true American, and his patriotic dog. From there, we began our counter protest, holding signs in support of President Bush, as well as some homemade signs.
James and his homemade sign God Bless The Patriot Act

My family and I were showing my parents who are from Ohio the sights in Hollywood on Saturday when we walked right into the middle of all of the freaks with horrible signs trashing our President and just about everything. My husband is active duty and we have attended Support the Troops rallys in Ventura County. I was so upset seeing all of the anti Bush people and the vulgar signs. This was before the "parade" started. We continued sight seeing and slowly made our way up the street. It wasn't long before I saw a group of people proudly displaying American Flags. We walked over to thank you all for being there. We were immediately welcomed and handed flags. We stayed and joined in. We were so happy to be welcomed and to be given the opportunity to show our support! Thanks everyone for being there!!
Our 17 year old son was with us and I had a hard time explaining to him why one of the so called "peace" people pushed me twice and kicked my husband once just because we were holding an American flag. My son brought up a funny point. He noticed that the word "peace" was mispelled on a couple of their signs. He stated that they can't be to bright if they can't even spell what they are standing for.

Hey RonDog,
Do you know Annie and James who were at the rally? Annie said she would email me her pics, but so far no email. If you're out there Annie, please send me the photos at
pnissan@gtcinternet.com. If you can help me RonDog, great. Thanks
