It was 216 miles to New York, we had a full tank of gas, rally signs, it was sunny, and we were wearing our Bush-Cheney buttons. The four of us (Free Republic member Javene, Tyler from Pardon My English and Matt from MattMargolis.com), hit the road from Boston around 7:30 am, on our way to be the voice of reason, counter protesting the anti-American socialist organization, International Answer.
We arrived in New York City around 11:30am, parked the car, and went to the beginning of the protest, at Madison Avenue between 23rd and 34th Streets. Before hitting the corner of the block we were set to start marching from, independent reporters were sticking microphones in front of us asking us questions, and taking pictures of our rally signs. We kindly answered their questions (even though most of them were from Socialist Papers that will like twist and tort our words). We then met up with our fellow Freeper, James, who was already there, who has already met another true American, and his patriotic dog. From there, we began our counter protest, holding signs in support of President Bush, as well as some homemade signs.
