COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Matt Dixon sips beer from a red, white and blue aluminum can in a smoky corner of Betty's Food and Spirits, a dimly lit hangout for local artists, college students and restaurant workers.
Bartenders pour 13 different microbrews for $3.75 a pint at Betty's, but the best-selling beer is Dixon's choice, $1.50-a-pint Pabst Blue Ribbon, a former blue-collar favorite decades removed from its heyday.

PBR's were the only ones available (besides the occasional Bud) in Vietnam in the o-clubs and PX. Tasted mighty good after a long day in the cockpit. Seeing those cans on the shelf again will bring back many memories.

I like Pabst......nostalgic for Schlitz?
Who knows what relation today's concoction bears to the old recipes?

What gives it that rich, golden color?

What gives it that rich, golden color? The horse was healthy.

I have a picture of my Grandmother and her sister from the early 1970s. Its taken at some family party they were hosting. Everyone is dressed up real nice.
On the table? Cans of Papst Blue Ribbon and Kesslers.
I still take along both when I go on my yearly Fishing trips.....

Almost depressing when you drive thru Milwaukee now and know that both the Pabst and Schlitz breweries have been turned into condos...

Schlitz was my favorite. They were either bought out, or folded. I also liked Falstaff...gone too!

Maybe that line had something to do with Pabst's resurgence.

This is enough evidence for me. Tax the rich so I'll be able to afford better beer. [/Sarcasm]

I also liked Falstaff...gone too! Hamm's, Ox Cart, Narraganset (when you're down to 'ganset, you're outta beer) Jax, Pearl... on the other hand, all these new beers are lots better. Sam Adams, Sea Dog....
