John Kerry "speaks as if only those who openly oppose America's objectives have a chance of earning his respect."

Thursday, March 18, 2004 12:01 a.m.

Last fall, some people with short memories were asking why on earth California would want to put an actor in the governor's office. The question brought to mind images of 1966, and all the great events that were set in motion by the election of Gov. Ronald Reagan. From his first day in Sacramento to his last day in Washington, Ronald Reagan showed a certain kind of leadership. He had confidence in himself, and even deeper confidence in the United States and our place among nations. His principles were the product of a good heart, a sturdy Midwestern character, and years of disciplined preparation for the work that history gave him. He had a basic awareness of good and evil that made him a champion of human freedom, and the greatest foe of the greatest tyranny of his time. The Cold War ended as it did, not by chance, not by some inevitable progression of events: It ended because Ronald Reagan was president of the United States.

I searched but was amazed that this wasn't posted yet.

Very compelling speech by VP Cheney with the most important point being: there is no more important role for the President than Commnader in Chief. A president's policies may help move the economy, but there are so many things outside the president's control there.

But in defending our great country, it is the President that has the critical role. President Reagan showed the value of principled leadership during his terms in office with the amazing victory over the Soviets in the Cold War that had raged for 40+ years. Now the US faces a similar threat -- and the US has a very CLEAR CHOICE. Pray to God the country makes the right choice.

Now I know why the Socialists want McCain to be Kerry's VP.

So McCain, in the VP debate can say he was in Vietnam and Cheney wasn't.

This is superb.

Cheney has always been a true asset for this President. The plain spoken way that Cheney expresses confidence in him will not be lost on the voters as this campaign progresses toward November.

I think it is going to be increasingly difficult for any Demodog to clamber on board the Kerry bandwagon seeing how effectively the Republicans are countering him. I think many will simply get out of the way to avoid being smashed to the ground with the Kerry carnage.

"The terrorist enemy holds no territory, defends no population, is unconstrained by rules of warfare, and respects no law of morality. Such an enemy cannot be deterred, contained, appeased or negotiated with. It can only be destroyed..."

This is so obvious to all but the rabid RAT-bastards, the new Spanish lunatic president, the French and German leadership. Why these socialists think they can befriend the madmen who carry out daily atrocities, even against their own Muslim cousins, is beyond me. Perhaps they value their own short-term ascension to power more than they do their long-term survival. Which is why I have come to understand that liberalism is a mental disorder.

I printed it out and read it this afternoon. Tremendous! I only wish I could see video, because Cheney's expressions are so funny ... he's one of the great, underappreciated commedians of our time :-).

This weekend I plan to go through the speech with my oldest daughter, because it's such a wonderful summary of the decisive issue in this election.
