The group appeared to boast it had the power to change governments.

Gracias, Spain.

I agree somewhat, but its not like these groups were sitting back and waiting to attack us until they could see the results of the Spanish operation.

"We change and destroy countries," the statement said. "We even influence the international economy, and this is God's blessing to us."

Spain is still our friend. Let us not start insulting them, and expect them to bow to us. Let us not stat calling Spanish rice "freedom rice"!

LOL, I think we found the article at the same time in two different places. The article itself isn't funny though.

Their influence (bombing) in changing the direction of the Spanish election has emboldened al-Qaeda and similar related Islamofascist terrorists. Thank you, Spain.

This is similar to BJClinton's 'folding the tent' in Somalia and tucking tail and running. Tapes and docuements from bin Laden state that BJ's actions helped embolden him, leading directly to a decade of attacks and 9-11.

Saying that the Spanish people played right into the hands of the terrorists is not insulting them, it's simply a statement of fact.

"We change and destroy countries," the statement said. "We even influence the international economy, and this is God's blessing to us."

They know that they can count on people like the democRats to divide us while trying to gain their own power from the kaos that the terrorist are creating. If we would stand united against the terrorist they would gain nothing. But as long as there is possibility for change that the democrats can capitalize on, they'll squeal like little piggies to get their power back.

Yes, you are correct. However, I am affraid of the extreme views from our foaming at the mouth media outlets (like the Weekly Standard, Forward, Frontpage, and the National Review), which degrades other sovereign countries honors and FORCE them to harden their position against us. Kicking sand in the face of people does not win friends. Let us allow diplomacy, and behind the scene talks to convince others of our views.

"We change and destroy countries"

That pretty well says it all--that is, if countries are willing to bow to mohamad, like spain. We can only hope and pray that the other named targets have the will and resolve not to let their countries be changed by this murderous group of satan led thugs.

"and this is God's blessing to us."

God must love the murder of innocent civilians. Maybe God will bless you with a nuke that wipes out your home town if this continues. The Hammurabi code goes two ways.

ummm...can we expect Abu to form a website for Pres Bush on the order of MoveOn.org??
I have a limited supply of bridges to sell any Americans who believe Abu's gang are "very keen" supporters of Pres Bush.

There was a program on NPR this morning about bin Laden and al Qaeda, saying that the leadership of terror has become decentralized and no longer depends on the orders of bin Laden or al Zawahiri to carry out local operations. Much of the program seemed to be preparing the US voters for the eventual capture of bin Laden and implying that it will be no big success for Bush when we get him. Although that angle is pure Democratic sour-grapes propaganda, there is much truth in the analysis.

The jihadi or Wahhabi fanaticism has spread widely to countries hostile to the US and would no doubt continue to conduct terror attacks even when we have all the al Qaeda leadership captured or dead. I have no doubt that local cells, splinter groups and individuals will go on blowing up things to get what they want for many years to come. Every time someone caves in to them like Spain, they become emboldened.

But this decentralizing of command works both ways. The terrorists (and the Democrats) think that by taking down the leader of a resisting country they can win. Wrong-o. If they manage to get Kerry elected or do some catastrophic attack on our government, the leadership of the fight against the jihadists is now becoming decentralized too. There are many groups and individuals who will carry on and intensify the war against terror without central leadership. Many are holding back from any direct action now because we still have a strong leader and direction. But if we get an appeaser in the White House and he starts caving in to the terrorists, watch out because, to paraphrase a line from al Qaeda, "there are millions of George Bushes".

Those fools are going to cause Japan to remilitarize. If they think the end result of that is anything but a LOT of pain, they're in fantasyland.
