Three men are in custody this hour after allegedly photographing sites around the local refineries Wednesday in Delaware County. Police sources confirm that the three men are in custody and are being questioned about their activities.

The men were apprehended by Marcus Hook police.

The FBI will assist with the investigation.

Sources also tell Action News that the alleged suspects were videotaping the refineries and tanker ships.

I used to video and take pics of planes in an airport. I was very flying phobic, and it was a way to deal with it.

9/11 cured my phobia. I'll never fly again, even from that instant I knew it. I wouldn't subject myself to that kind of death.

All the security mania also helps me realize I did the right thing. It's insane to fly. Just drive. Or don't go.

then we've just lost the war on terror domestically with that kind of attitude. we'll have to wait until they blow up a refinery or a tanker before we can do anything to them. you can't handle the war on terror like you would a criminal investigation. that's what clinton did, what kerry would do, treat it like a law enforcement activity. unless these guys can come up with a plausible story as to why they were videotaping a refinery, search them.

Ah, I used to make many crossings of the Commodore Barry Bridge when I lived down that way. Just seems like Da Hook has enough problems without potential terrorist activity. So long as they don't touch Chester!! Route 322 ping.

I was out at a local dam doing some birdwatching with my spotting scope. Some tourists kept asking if I was getting good pictures with my camera. I told them it was a telescope but I don't think that they believed me. After I returned to my car a little bit later there was a sheriff looking around for me because someone said I was taking pictures of the dam. I was glad that I had purposely left my digital camera in the car. I explained to him that my spotting scope was not a camera. He ran my ID and then let me be on my way. I am glad that he was reasonable.

My stepfather was a lab tech at Sunoco's Marcus Hook refinery, of which a great view can be had from a big hilltop cemetery (where my grandparents repose) sandwiched between the Sun refinery and I-95. The Amtrak line bisects the Sun refinery (not the prettiest entrance to Pennsylvania).

The other big refinery in that (literal) corner of PA is the Conoco/Phillips(?) plant in Trainer, which is between the Hook and Chester. Before Conoco/Phillips bought it, it was the property of Tosco, and before that BP, and before that Sinclair (which was bought by BP).

Thanks for the video clip ..

sounds like they weren't picked up for just taking video pictures ... but because of all the lies they told for their reasons of being there and taking pictures of a cargo ship coming up the river

Hmmm... are these three men Muslims by any chance? Are they Arabic? Are they foreign nationals? Are they in this country illegally?

I bet that one or more of the above are true. Why? Because the politically correct Leftist "reporters" always omit that information UNLESS the perps are American Caucasian men.

Let's get the whole story.

Don't let the INS have them! They will be released and gone before dawn.

Strange what appeals to people. I used to love coming in by train and seeing the refinery. For a DC girl, then living in Philly, the refinery was something you'd never see in DC - some part of real America where people actually did real work for a living instead of the mind games that go on in DC.

Refineries are very good targets for terrorists.

I hope these (blank) (blankety-blank) (expletive deleted) PUNKS are beaten into confession. Or death.

"John Kerry will ensure that nothing bad will happen to us ever again."

No, 'ol John will hire lots of additional Firemen so that when the Militant Islams blow it up and kill lots of people, we will clean it up real good!

Strange what appeals to people. I used to love coming in by train and seeing the refinery.

Back in the early 1960's natural gas was worth very little in Texas. The oil fields around Houston had stand-pipes with permanent flares. The gas was burnt off while the oil was pumped out.

Seeing those flames was like coming home.

I guess the nation was a little short-sighted back then, but I can't blame anyone. Back then it seemed that Texas Oil was inexaustable.

Does John Kerry know about this? He seems to think the idea of terrorism is a Bush scare tactic to be re-elected?

I worked summers when I was in college in the 60s as a Merchant Seaman on Sun Oil tankers out of the refinery at Marcus Hook. That refinery is right up against highly populated areas and within spitting distance of the Northeast Corridor rail tracks. I would have to think it would be an appealing target for terrorists. I am glad people who are taking pictures are detained. Beats the crap out of hassling old ladies at the airport.
