[history]
THIS WINTER has been a strange one -- periods of extreme cold followed by unseasonable warmth. While some may consider this a "good old fashioned winter," it bears little resemblance to those of the 1950s or '60s. Scientists and policymakers alike are concerned that carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels are having an increasingly significant impact on our regional and global climate.

While the last two winters have been quite cold, the fluctuation in temperature and snowfall are the kind of variability projected by climate modelsWhatever you say, Professor.
To: Nonstatist
Gee. They're measuring temperatures in cement and asphalt canyons.

A conference beginning today at Suffolk University Law School and organized by the New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers highlights this concern.Any conference organized by politicos and held at a law school raises my concern about the integrity of my wallet.

Too cold/too hot, it doesn't matter, it's all because of Global Warming. Next, Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) is the LARGEST killer of people. Funds demanded by Ketchup Boy for this newfound killer linked to global warming.

Let me get this straight. Supposedly serious and capable people are just now discovering that the weather in New England is unpredictable. Really. Wait 'til they find out how salty the Atlantic is.

Yeah, and when they find out that birds fly south for the winter, they'll have a seizure. :-)

Many [cities and towns] are promoting clean renewable energy and energy efficiency -- activities that generate huge cost savings while making our air healthier and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. I'd like to see a report on which renewable energy sources are creating huge cost savings.

I own a waterfront home on the east coast. It's about four feet above high tide. Should I try to find some sucker to buy it and head for the high ground?

Meanwhile, if these academic pointy-headed nerds deign to look out their window tomorrow during their global-warming conference, they will see a raging snowstorm. Yes, Boston is getting a foot or more of snow tomorrow.
Wasn't Algore in NYC recently ranting about global warming on the coldest day in years? These liberals have the worst sense of timing.

Mankind is so full of himself that he thinks he can control Mother Nature. Two ice ages before we arrived, seems Mother Nature does fine without us.

The great thing about climate models is that they can be adjusted to give the exact results that are desired. Understainding the climate is secondary to creating hysteria, and hysteria is what creates research grants.
