Hey...I have doubts about Bush from time to time too, but I'm still gonna vote for him and I think he's doing a good job...

I'll have to listen and hear what he says.

While I agree with you that the GOP doesn't articulate it's position as often or as vociferously as do the gimmies, I must say that everything you want, is common knowledge and has been done ad nauseam.

The only REASON that hasn't been given for going to war with IRAQ is IMHO the BEST. Iraq constinuously and consistantly VIOLATED the ARTICLES of SURRENDER from GULF WAR 1 and a RESUMPTION of HOSTILITIES by the United States was MANDATORY to make them comply with THEIR UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER TERMS.

"What you said!"

Didn't understand last para...getting sleepy...sleepy...sleepy...<8^)

I’d like to hear/read the entire interview. But assuming the tidbit posted here is true, I can’t blame Mel. I had, and still have, some doubts about the WMD claims.

OK - I'll bite. Exactly what kind of "doubts" are you having about WMD?

1) We know Iraq had them and used them; 2) there is no documentation that they have ever been destroyed; 3) so where the heck are they?

Well, I think he is too closely handled at times, and doesn't get to show who he really is. I think he needs to trust his own instincts a bit more, and Karl Rove's...a little less.

I see that Drudge is playing the story for maximum effect. Let's see the comment in full context.

Good one, but just reading the scenario gives me the creeps. I can't even imagine Kerry as president in a parallel universe....just too scary. Scary Kerry.

He has done as you suggest but there are people who are insistent (for various reasons) not to give him the benefit of the doubt and never will.

You are missing my point. He has said these things...though he says these things in front of Diane Sawyer and Meet the Press where his answer get washed over. Im talking oval office tv timeout. Explain his position and the fact just before American Idol where morons are waiting for Simon Cowell will get to hear Bush with the truths to the matter that I listed.

Mel Gibson says he now has 'doubts' about President Bush and re-election

He's only saying what some on FR have said. He's probably paying too much attention to the polls which have been nothing more than push-polls for John Kerry up to this point.

Hitchens - the man who has called Mother Teresa a "Ghoul" and has ridiculed "The Passion" and not to mention both Christian and Jewish faiths is a good ally of the Neocon warmongers. They love him! And why not? The avowed socialist Hitchens knows that war always leads to bigger governments and more control. Look at the Iraqi constitution for heavens sake! It is a socialist blueprint! Hitchens sees the USA as he once saw the old Soviet Union- as the spreader of his "progressive" world views. Of course he supports this war on "terrorism".

I suggested Mel's comments about Bush have more to do with Kerry being Catholic than anything else.

If that is true than Mel has little sense when it comes to who is actually furthering the Gospel as opposed to who sides with the Christian haters, simply because he only knows Catlick vs Protestant. Stupid.

Why is it important what some actor says? Not only is it too early in the election cycle to get a feel for which way things are going, this particular actor is riding the heady wave of extreme success. It's unlikely his feet will hit the ground any time soon. Just about anything he'll say for awhile won't mean anything to me, at least.

Too, all of us have our work cut out for us. We may not agree with many things Bush has done or has to offer. However, given Spain, Kerry, and a whole lot of other "stuff" going on, we MUST elect Bush for another 4 years, if only so we can either get our acts together and defeat the enemy or find somewhere to hide. That's not going to be easy, particularly since we've been on the defensive for so many years.

Now if the article read Gibson having doubts about Christ it would be a whole different story... That apparently would be more acceptable to some than to doubt Bush.

Boy, if Mel thought he had problems with Abe Foxman and the ADL, just let him try to criticize the neocon messiah.

Some pro-war freepers have a habit of turning former heroes into villians at the drop of a hat. As an anti-war freeper, I always liked the Passion regardless of Mel's views on the issue. I must admit that I happy, however, that he apparently had the good sense to be on my side.

Well, you're right. People sure do blow hot and cold around here. Even the most rabid of Bush supporters turn on him in a second if he ever puts the mildest pressure on Sharon. Of course, when Sharon says "We're going to withdraw from Gaza" they turn on him too. I don't know who is far enough to the right for some folks.

As far as Gibson having doubts about Bush, who doesn't, after the steel tariffs, increased funding for NPR, ever rising budgets, his administration's use of ad hoc intelligence teams to tell him what he wants to hear, his failure to plan adequately for post-War Iraq, and the ever-encroaching police state under the Patriot Act I & II? Having said all that, Kerry would still be worse. He wants new hate crime laws to make it a criminal offense to hurt someone's feelings (even if you're only telling them the truth).

Freepers can be some of the fastest turners you'll ever see.

Especially when the national security of our country is threatened by Hollywood actors who should, how do we say this politely, Shut Up and Sing.
