Report from Chappaqua: Why Hillary WON'T run...( in 2006 )and a few other surprising thoughts...
one man's opinion.....

Posted on 03/13/2004 8:46:43 AM PST by ken5050

Umagine, if you will, the front page of the NY Times the day after the election:

Bush defeats Kerry. Margin greater than polls indicated.

Sen Clinton seen as favorite for 2008 nomination.

Sadly, welcome to the 24/7/4 year presdiential election cycle. Yes, we're all focused on this fall's race, but a good chess player, and political strategist, thinks many moves ahead. That's why a close examination of the tea leaves tells us that Hillary will NOT run for re-election in 2006. Indeed, it woulod be a huge surprise if she did. Here's why...

Good story Ken..... Thing about humans is they loove a good story.. BUT...

The thing you're missing is the possibility of the 1st, First gentleman in U.S. History married to the first female President.. Nah! Ken.. this is the story... A Barbie and Ken story that only a logic starved liberal and few Rinos would could love. And its totally legal too.. A dual Presidency with Hiillary in charge, like the first time. Everybody who voted for AL Gump in 2000 and a few more (the borders are open ya know) would be enraptured.. It would stick it to the Pubbies for Bushs theft in 2000 according to demos -AND-complete the legend of Bubba.. for the legacy you know.. an event to be remembered all the way down as America slouches to Gomorrah.. until the renaming ceremony of once proud Republic..

Nah! Ken you've missed completely the drama of the Sloucharama.. THIS IS AMERICA.. people here thought Marcus Welby was actually a DOCTOR.. but not all of Americas women would see a MALE first lady as a VICTORY, ONLY MOST OF THEM.. and a woman President as a mandate. Talk about a media circus.. Even the terrorists would be jumping in the streets fireing guns and saying Allah Akbar. Cause as Al Gump might say .. EVIL IS AS EVIL DOES..

The machinations of the evil in the democrat party and some of the republican party has always been at one with the other evils in the world.. If America can elect a veritable traitor as President and is powerless to un-elect him what is impossible to these people-->> answer:nothing..

Parting comment: The most important thing I missed in this brief scenario is Hillary selected as Veep for John Kerry setting her up for the run in 2008.. John Kerry is toast but the toaster is not plugged in YET...

I dont think you can count her out for this election cycle yet. If ketchup boy's numbers are strong several weeks before the rat convention, bubba's wench has a huge decision to make. Sign on now as kerry's Vp( vice versa in reality) or wait for many years.

I think Rudy's going to run for president in '08. I don't see any outstanding Repubs out there who have nationwide visibility. The country wouldn't elect Jeb right after W. Too many visions of monarchy. Who else is there that has nation-wide appeal? In a Rudy admin, Tancredo would make a great head of Homeland Security.

Your scenario is very thought provoking. It also leaves room, during the withdrawal timeframe, for a skillful nip and tuck by a plastic surgeon. This is needed.

Hillary will choose not to run for the Senate in 2006, for fear of losing to Rudy Giuliani. If he defeats her in her bid for re-election, it will kill any chance she had of ever leading the party in 2008.

If Hillary resigns from the Senate, she and Bill have ZERO leverage in the Party. If that happens, the Party flushes and two steaming heaps are washed away for ever. Hillary ain't goin' nowhere. My original prediction was for her to run '08 from the perch of a Senate seat. But regardless of the year, she won't run for President without having that Senate seat to return to.

I think she's has more power as a sitting Senator than a Veep. She certainly held more power and influence through Bill than Gore ever thought of having as a Veep. Hillary is tapped into power NOW. She won't give that up even unless she gets into the White House as top dog. She may run for President someday, but it WILL be from the launch pad of a Senate seat.

The closest Hillary will come to being president is in the minds of the mindless.

After the November election, and the devestation it will cause the Dims, there will be a purge of the Clintons, the DNC, and their ilk, as the Dims try to become relevant again.

Hitlery ain't running for President in 2006 and 2008 because she is running in 2004.

If and when this self proclaimed queen ever decides for the big prize, she's going to have to expose herself to some harsh questioning. Lots of unanswered questions from her drug money laundering days in Arkansas to Vince Foster's murder. Freepers have a great web site at alamo-girl.com that has a wealth of information on the Clintons. Be prepared to spend a month of reading. No pics.

I, personally, don't think she'll run in '06 for her senate seat. I think she'll let someone else have it. This will give her time to schmooze the monied democrats to overfill her coffers with a good amount of presidential campaign dollars. (She and x42 have already set up organizations to collect money for the presidential race, right now). She will make sure she has enough money to spread far and wide to help her walk through those white house doors in January 2009.

"Ay, there's the rub," wrote the Bard in Hamlet's soliloquy:

To run, or not to run: that is the question:
: Whether ’t is nobler in the mind to suffer
: The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
: Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
: And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep:
: No more; and by a sleep to say we end
: The heartache and the thousand natural shocks
: That flesh is heir to,—’t is a consummation
: Devoutly to be wish’d. To die, to sleep;
: To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there ’s the rub:

Interesting premise; however, I feel that Hilary will remain in her Senate seat, and more than likely achieve re-election easily. Why? simply that Giuliani will not run against her, and there is no one else to defeat her. Rudy failed the GOP once in this race, thus making it easier to fail them again. The last NYC politico to make it to Albany was Teddy Roosevelt, who became Governor after being the NYC Police Commissioner. Typically, upstaters do not take kindly to NYC office holders. Ask Ed Koch.

Rudy is waiting for the big job to come from W after he gets re-elected to a second term. Why pay for a costly, hard race for the Senate when you can have the AG or some other cabinet position without spending a dime? You can take book on this, my friend.

I do agree with the main point, and you make a good case for it. We'll see what happens.

I think there will be outrage in New York that she would resign her Senate seat while a Republican is Governor, particularly if the GOP is close to having the veto-proof 60 senators.

Also, I think Hillary's negatives will continue to be high and the Democrat Party (which now won't have McAuliffe as their figurehead) will have to tell her she can't win if she can't spin the negatives down.

The Democrats love Bill, not Hillary. But Bill isn't going to get near the White House again. We were d*** lucky to get him out of there the first time.

I do agree that the timing of Bill's book release will be a secret salvo designed to torpedo the Kerry campaign. The rest of the scenario is highly specualtive and doesn't really add up in my mind.

Do you have any proof that Clinton is friends with Derek Jeter?

If you want a GOOD STORY, try this on. Hillary divorces Bill and attends Chelsea's wedding amid rumors or a lesbian romance. She goes to San Francisco and marries then campaigns for President as the "First Gay/Lesbian Presidential Candidate". The press would eat it up like flies on feces and will insist on telling the rest of us how narrow-minded and bigoted we are if we don't vote for her.

She'll lose in a landslide but not before the Clinton/Ford ticket makes history and scores a lot of media points about how bigoted Republicans are presumed to be.
