WASHINGTON (CNN) -- This week's deadly train bombings in Spain will not lead to a rise in the U.S. color-coded terror threat alert system, a Department of Homeland Security spokesman said Friday.

"Based on the current intelligence, we have no specific indicators that terrorist groups are considering such an attack in the U.S. in the near term," said department spokesman Brian Roehrkasse.

But then there is this commentary by Yigal Carmon is President of MEMRI at the end of the translated letter. Although this may not be an Al Queda letter, it is a letter from some islamic fanatical murderous terrorist group.

This whole thing is really well orchestrated. AQ is certainly there, but I'm as certain that ETA is in it up to their necks also.

ETA was a facilitator, they win all the way around, don't have to claim responsibility, get a spectacular event to turn the tide against the current administration.

The printed signs and organized protests are too scripted to be spontaneous.

Iraqi police in al-Kut arrest three al-Qaeda members - report
Baghdad, Mar 13 (DPA) Iraqi police in al-Kut, 170 kilometres south of Baghdad, have arrested three Iraqis who confessed to being al-Qaeda members, the local al-Sabah newspaper said today.

Al-Sabah, associated with the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA), said Iraqi police arrested the three men Thursday.

Al-Kut police official Sabri Breisim told al-Sabah that the three Iraqis, two from Mosul and one from Amara, carried light weapons and video tapes of previous attacks on police stations and oil pipes in Mosul.

''One of then confessed he worked with the al-Qaeda network and that he coordinated with a man who is in contact with (Jordanian al-Qaeda member) Abu Masaab al-Zarqawi,'' Breisim said.

The police officer also said that one of the arrested men confirmed that al-Zarqawi was currently in Baghdad.

The newspaper also said that phone numbers belonging to former senior Baathist officials from Tikrit and Mosul were found with the men.

U S authorities are accusing al-Zarqawi of masterminding a series of attacks in Iraq. They have placed a 10 million dollar bounty on anyone who can provide information that leads to his capture or death.

BTW, I haven't been following the last three threads the way I did the first two. Instead of reading everything, I usually just read the last 50-100 posts when I get the chance and follow various posts backwards as they catch my attention so please forgive me if this has been discussed in detail recently.

How do recent events fit with what many expected between the end of January & the Islamic New Year? I remember posts about Daleel or someone saying that there would be an audio tape before an attack, then a video tape of Bin Laden afterwards. Have those conditions already been met with 3/11? Wasn't there an audio tape release a week or two ago, then this video claiming responsibility for Madrid? Or was that set of criteria supposed to relate to a US attack? Or did we assume it meant US when it really meant Spain?

Then there was also something about the media being notified before the "Death Blow" to US so we could watch our own distruction. This second video tape found in the trash wouldn't be that would it? (Looking for tin foil...)

Yes they have reported that it is the video tape of Al Queda taking responsibilty for the Madrid bombings. It was in a thrashcan by a mosque, and some male phoned the Spanish LE to inform them that it was there.

Poland has raised their alert to high. If islamist try to do something I can tell you only this; we will hit them back so hard they will wish they were not born. Yes Muslim New Year came and went without an attack

The 3-11 event does coincide with the timing of release of audio tapes by Zawahiri et al. Things do seem to happen within weeks of those releases.

I think the video tape from Bin Laden was supposed to be after he died in the "belly of the eagle" and after the "death blow" which came from one of their tapes.

The video in the trash is the same as reported earlier, I missed that one myself. It's very hard to keep up with this when things are happening.

Who was keeping a summary for us?

I had thought that Italy had already been hit with 45 casualties at Nasyria (Iraq) already. But been reading the other posts from the previous threads and if I remember correctly, it was either EOM or Daleel who mentioned the USA will be attacked following Britain. So, the order you mention makes a lot of sense. But what do you make of Yemen being next that I read in a prior post? Next to whom?
