WASHINGTON (CNN) -- This week's deadly train bombings in Spain will not lead to a rise in the U.S. color-coded terror threat alert system, a Department of Homeland Security spokesman said Friday.
"Based on the current intelligence, we have no specific indicators that terrorist groups are considering such an attack in the U.S. in the near term," said department spokesman Brian Roehrkasse.

Full Article For the first time Monday, Hamas threatened the United States and suggested it might seek outside help in carrying out revenge attacks.
"The Zionists didn't carry out their operation without getting the consent of the terrorist American administration and it (the United States) must take responsibility for this crime," Hamas said in a statement. "All the Muslims of the world will be honored to join in on the retaliation for this crime."
In the past, Hamas has refrained from targeting U.S. citizens or interests, instead focusing on fund-raising and recruitment within the United States, according to senior U.S. law enforcement officials.
Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge was heeding the Hamas terror warning. "If they are threatening the United States, we have to take it quite seriously," he told reporters in Washington.
While not condemning the assassination, the State Department said it increases tensions and would make it harder to pursue peace in the Middle East. "We are troubled," spokesman Richard Boucher said.
President Bush's national security adviser, Condoleezza Rice, told NBC that "it is very important that everyone step back and try now to be calm in the region."
But Israel said it will press ahead with more targeted attacks and raids.
"The war against terror has not ended and will continue day after day, everywhere," Sharon said. He called Yassin the "mastermind of Palestinian terror" and a "mass murderer who is among Israel's greatest enemies."
More than 200,000 Palestinians, some carrying billowing green Hamas flags, poured into the streets of Gaza City for Yassin's funeral procession, the largest gathering here in recent memory. Tens of thousands of furious Palestinians rallied across the West Bank.....

For years we waited for a revolution in Iraq. Then the dissident groups ie: Chalabi etc said they needed arms, all we needed to do was supply them, train them and until "W" no one bothered using this and we still had to go in with shock and awe

I don't know if you guys saw this or not, but I believe that there has been more than one person on the talk news shows stating that some illegals pay $500.00 dollars to be bought into the US, and some pay thousands of dollars for someone to bring them here illegally. And those that are paying the thousands of dollars are not paying it to come here and clean other peoples floors or to work in a McDonalds. I believe one of the people stating this was Tom Tancredo.

I realised after seeing The Passion we didn't breed their hate for us, the Arab world, they were born into it. They were evil and hateful and bloodthirsty for Jesus and they sure cannot blame W for that!
They hate Christians, period! They hate good! They loathe values!

"Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge was heeding the Hamas terror warning. "If they are threatening the United States, we have to take it quite seriously," he told reporters in Washington."Tom Ridge had a live news conference this morning. Fox chose not to air it, MSNBC cut it after a few minutes to continue their discussion about the danger of eating albacore tuna (mercury pollution) and CNN had it on a little longer. The part I was able to listen to was about the threats to trains and subways. He was saying there would be more security and teams ready to be deployed with bomb sniffing dogs. Sounds as though they are taking it seriously.

Not all Arabs JP. Yes, a lot of the culture, true. But we wouldn't be spilling our blood in Iraq and Afghanistan if that was all true.

I guess I'm trying to be positive. I'm sure they really want to attack, and I'm sure they are as angery as they have ever been.
However, I really think funding has become a problem for the Palistinians. There was a time when suicide bombers got not only spiritual support, but they knew their families would recieve financial rewards. With Saddam gone and pressure on elsewhere,(Europe scrutinizing Arafat's funding and the loss of Arafat's money line to Iran) I think it's tough for them to fund their terror campaign. The PA can't even make payroll anymore.
I know that Arafat has, several times in the last few weeks, called for all terror orginizations to punish Isreal for the assasination of one of his close aids, who happened to be the money go between to Iran. All that's come of it is they lobbed a few morters and the one suicide attack at the port a week or so ago.
That they got off that suicide attack is unfortunate, but I'm sure they have wanted to, and have been trying to do more. The reason they haven't been able to, I think, is a result of the lack of funds and serious disarray in Palestinian leadership. The killing of this genocidal maniac will throw their leadership in further disarray.
That's why I say I don't think you will see any big attack, not because they don't want to, but because they can't.
I agree that they consider dying a reward, but they also need funds to operate.
Like I said, time will tell, but I really hope I'm right.
