"We are devastated," Patricia Borawski said. "My husband slept with his head on the dog's bed and cried out her name."

This person has serious problems IMO.

We have coyotes in Georgia as well, they are eerie sounding animals in the pitch black of night. They're part of the reason I have bull dogs instead of yip yip dogs although i'm sure that most here would trash me for owning any type of "God forbid" a pit bull dog. But then again my dogs haven't been eaten by the wild animals either.

Just the right sized morsel for a hungry coyote.

Less you think that was a nasty commment and the sole reason for this post, here is another:

(NY)11-pound Lhasa apso is carried off into woods (Coyote Alert!)

When I moved into our present house, I had a new neighbor ask me if I hunted. I said, yes.

Then he asked me if my wife was good looking. Again I said yes.

The neighbor went on to tell me that he hunts coyotes, and that coyote hunting is better than sex.

I have to admit he made me want to go coyote hunting... but it also made me wonder what HIS wife looked like.

I think they need some wolves in NY. Most of the libs in NY were more than happy to see them reintroduced out here in Idaho. I think the rattlesnake needs to be reintroduced to NY too...Oh wait..They already have Hillary.

Upstate NY Ping! please let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from the ping list.

"We are devastated," Patricia Borawski said. "My husband slept with his head on the dog's bed and cried out her name."

Now, I have had to suffer the loss of my dog as well. It is a terrible thing. But this is a bit much. Even if I did lay in the dog bed and cry out her name, I sure as heck wouldn't let my wife tell the papers about it!

My dog got into it with a coyote two days ago. I just let her out to go to the bathroom for a minute and he popped right up behind her. She has some nasty scratches, but it looks like she'll be fine. I'd hate to loose her.

Last winter I saw the strangest thing as I pulled into our driveway one night. A coyote sitting in a tree! Granted, it was a low branch, but it sure looked funny perched up there like that!

I find it hard to believe that anyone would leave a tiny show dog unsupervised outside.

Sorry to hear about Dublin, but for better or worse, the coyote is doing what coyotes do. Maybe the Borawskis ought to consider getting Shannon a big brother...Rottweiler, German shepherd, something like that. Even the odds, don't you know.

Sad story...but the southwest has had this problem for years. One morning early I looked out to a field and saw a brown mound. My first thought was damn it, those pesky gophers have dug another tunnel. Walking up to the scene I found the neighbors cat neatly eviscerated. Some days you're the windshield...some days you're the bug.

The coyote had jumped a 2-foot-high fence in the back yard and attacked the small dog.

What kind of an idiot would put his dog in a yard bordered by a 2-foot-high fence?

Sorry, but this is not the coyote's fault. It's the owner's.

Over the past twenty years there has been a lot of housing developments built in my area. I have had numerous cats taken and eaten by coyotes.

I have seen them in my front yard, jumping fences, etc. Can't really blame them they are hungry and will eat what they can get.

The real problem is that if it could be a dog, it could be a child. Parents must be doubly vigilant. I don't trust coyotes; human or animal, day or night.

When my sister lived in the Rockies, everyone had a roof on their dog runs to keep the mountain lions out.

My brother in law was driving once and saw these old people in a motor home pulled off the road and very distraught. An eagle swooped down and grabbed their dog when they let it out to pee.

Somewhere a liberal is saying this is Bush's fault.
