Am I racist if I say that all names spelled "Mohammed" sound alike to me?

The Egyptian security forces have a building which they call "The House of Pain."

As it was described to me, when one "checks in" to the House of Pain the interrogators take a hammer and chisel and slowly breakable the bones in your hands.

When I inquired further as to what happens if you continue to resist their questions I was corrected and was told that this procedure is *before* they ask any questions, it just to put their subject in the right frame of mind so that no time is wasted when they do decide to ask some questions.

Here's my guess: US intelligence learned that he was being held in Egypt, and quick as a flash, before President Bush could make some firm noises in their direction, the Egyptians 'fessed up.

I wonder if he has been tortured, I doubt it...maybe so, but I want to think about it a while.

Al-Zawahri had been believed to be in Egyptian police custody for at least three years, but the government never acknowledged it.

Wonder why they never acknowledged it?

I don't know at all why, but I'd like to . . .

That goes back before 911.

I could think of a few flippent reasons, but I'll refrain.

I've got to wonder whether this announcement has anything to do with the announcement that some Imam al-Sherif, a cofounder of Islamic Jihad together with Ayman al-Zawahiri was captured. Funny coincidence.

CAIRO, Egypt (AP) — Egypt acknowledged for the first time Thursday that it is holding Mohammed al-Zawahri, the brother of al-Qaida's No. 2 man.

Al-Zawahri had been believed to be in Egyptian police custody for at least three years, but the government never acknowledged it. He was sentenced to death in absentia for his role in Islamic Jihad attacks inside Egypt.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few consequences of Monday's multiple evildoer attacks:
Yemen admits to having captured a major Al Qaeda figure, Egypt admits having a terrorist leader in custody, Sunnis and Shiites united in protest against attacks in Iraq, US military leaders responded without faltering, promising to hunt down and remove those responsible, and the President put the war on terror smack in the center of the election campaign.
Hoo ah!
Bad days for the bad guys!
Mohammed Zawahiri has trained Kosovo Albanian terrorists, Clinton's pets.
Since for Clinton and humwarrriors Kosovo Albanian terrorists are poor and innocent, perhaps they can invest their reputation and good standing within the international community and bail poor innocent Zawahiri out. /sarcasm off
Heheheheh. Nothing like holding a Big Fish. I don't blame them for trying to keep it quiet. His terrorist colleagues might try to attack and spring him.
Could be that the foiled AQ assassination attempt on Mubarak in AddisAbaba and the ongoing tepid response by Clinton to jihadis soured Mubarak on the whole US attitude.
My guess is we've known about it. Why It's being released now is the question.
Not that I believe Zawahiri wouldn't sacrifice the life of his brother for the jihad. Don't think the loon is blackmailable through family members, unfortunately.
What?!!! And Interrupt the brain damaged, blow dried vacant fluffernutter news readers and their incompetent, ignorant, narcissitically self absorbed producers and editors who focus incessantly on tabloid scandals, the preening vanities of the primaries, along with tawdry and trivial criminal court cases.
That's what the people want y'know. Sleaze and trivia.
