"...I think we know where Binny at..."

I'm thinking the same thing. Digging him out is the problem. I sure do hope this is true.

Brothers Serve National Guard: One In NASCAR, One In Iraq

Special to American Forces Press Service

CONCORD, N.C., March 2, 2004 – Jeff Silver of Forrest City, N.C., has followed a dream of working for a NASCAR team for the last seven years.

He has worked in the body shop at Roush Racing for four years, and is the front tire carrier for the No. 16 National Guard team.

Silver's older brother, John, shared the dream of working for a top-level NASCAR team, but he joined the Army right after high school and remained on active duty for 12 years.

About two years ago, John Silver decided it was time for a change and left the military to pursue other opportunities. The possibility of joining his brother in the racing industry was always in the back of his mind.

During those two years, however, our country went to war and John saw several of his friends head off to Iraq.

So, last December -- just as the National Guard decided to join forces with his brother's race team as part of the Guard's national advertising campaign -- John decided to enlist in the National Guard, fully aware that he would likely be deployed to Iraq.

"When you sign with the Guard, you know this is a possibility," said John. "I felt that it was my duty. I had been on active duty for 12 years and never seen combat. I was just tired of watching the news and seeing guys having to stay over there for so long.

The rest of the story

Arrowhead, I'm liking that stack of pancakes, and an egg too. Yum! Thanks for helping keep Texas and the US of A safe. And thanks for helping honor our military, past and present.

No, I'm afraid not. Tommorow may be a very active severe weather in parts of Oklahoma. We're going to have to watch it very closely.

Altogether now! Let's hear a group "awwwwwwwwwww" for Fawnn! (Kids outside playing were making too much noise for me to take an early nap. I'm gonna go try it again.)

Good news is that I got another Web page done. Hope to do some "coloring" later tonight. ;)

Joe decides to take his boss Phil to play 9 holes on their lunch. While both men are playing excellent they are often held up by two women in front of them moving at a very slow pace. Joe offers to talk to the women and see if they can speed it up a bit. He gets about half of the way there stops and jogs back.

His boss asks what the problem is. "Well one of those women is my wife and the other my mistress," complained Joe. Phil just shook his head at Joe and started toward the women determined to finish his round of golf. Preparing to ask the ladies to speed up their game, he too stopped short and turned around.

Joe asked "what's wrong?" It's a small, small world Joe, and you're fired"

A little help here! A small bird wonders what happened to its birdbath in Matthews, N.C. Record snow in some areas piled up overnight across the state as the second round of a winter storm brought deep snow Friday.

Snow day: A man makes his way along the slushy sidewalks in Charlotte, N.C. Many workers went home early as heavy snow moved into the area.
