President Bush called Sen. John Kerry tonight to congratulate him on his victories in Super Tuesday. "We had a very nice conversation," the Massachusetts Democrat said. "He called to congratulate me."
Despite Kerry's months of vicious attacks, Bush asked that they focus on the issues and have a clean campaign, according to Fox News Channel.
Well, there's a first time for everything.

I would say that in the modern world a soft warning from Bush carries a lot of weight.Too bad the dims are stuck in the 60's and the 30's. They will ignore it, and get their @$$es handed to them!

I'm sure Bush is rounding up his cattle and putting on the BIG hat. Kerry, on the other hand, is grabbing an axe and trying to get to the fire extinguisher. It's gonna be brutal, but I have every expectation that kerry will be branded with the W iron come Nov.

I hope your not voting in November!

According to what I heard on FOX News it was JFKerry that wanted "focus on the issues and have a clean campaign." Did you just listen to Kerry's speech?
Is that what he calls a clean campaign?

Bush and company will have a smile on their faces and treat Kerry just as they treated John McCain. Bush called J F'n K to congradulate him because he is thrilled to have this limp wristed twit for an opponent!

I think the Bush team is up for the fight! I don't ... he's poorly served by his staff when it comes to campaign issues ... most notably by his press secretary. The liberal mainstream media will continue to hammer away at Bush non-stop 'till November. He needs sharp, quick on their feet spokespeople who can saturate the talk shows (like the Clintonistas) and knock down criticism of Bush policy by Kerry and his allies in the liberal media. George Bush Sr. waited too long to try and counter charges "he was out of touch" & "it's the economy stupid" ... unless the Bush gang get more assertive and aggressive in putting their own positive spin on issues, Nov.'04 will be a repeat of Nov.'91.

Let that slanderous prick drone away for the next 9 months. Dubya should continue to take the high road. Let his subordinates (and us, his foot soldiers) do the dirty work. AND MAKE SURE YOU, YOUR FAMILY, AND YOUR FRIENDS ARE REGISTERED. DON'T PUT IT OFF.
The only reason his father lost was because Perot took 19% of the vote.

Kerry suggested sticking to the issues. That's fine. "The issues" include his activities after returning from Viet Nam, and his voting record in the Senate. No problem.

Who passed the story to Fox, the Kerry side or the Bush side? Whoever did will claim they were the one that brought up the request to sticking to issues and having a clean contest etc My guess it was the President who said this and then Kerry reported to Fox that he said it. That's more typical of Kerry. Lying SOS.
To: CyberAnt
.. it was KERRY who suggested to Bush that they stick to the issues.Bush should have said, "OK, fine with me. How did you vote on {pick any topic}?"

I think it was a good move. In a night where Kerry is the headline, the President got his name highlighted as a sub-headline-in a positive way.

I think the Bush team is up for the fight. Plus, Bush does have us in his corner slamming the liberals everytime they open their mouths. Just look at the way we treat the trolls who come looking for trouble on FR. I'd say the liberals had better start worrying cause my gloves are off!
I got your back Arpege92! Now lets kick some troll tail!
