However, thankfully, Tom DeLay is going to bury this bill in committee I'm not so sure.

The time to vote against the RINOS is during the primaries and not the general election. Any victory for the dems moves the country to the left.

Dan, I know you've been working on this for some time. This bill is poison for Bush's base. DeLay's job is to keep it off the larger Manufacturer's bill. DeLay will bury this bill in conference.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

Yes, Frist amendment. I'm not clear on what it proposes. The C-SPAN summay chiron makes it appear to take many teeth out of McCain's gun-show amendment.

Delay isn't who I'm worried about. He'll do his best like he did in 2000.
But Dennis Hastert and Hyde I'm not as sure of.

What part of that do you see as anything diffent than two senators that just voted to approve that legislation? The difference is not as *striking* as I would prefer, but Bush has stated he wants a "clean bill" - and he voted in CCW in Texas. His administration is hardly clamoring for extension. I understand they aren't doing enough to kill it - at least not in public.
Kerry and Edwards are posturing as if they are somehow equivalent to the GOP on gun control issues - any democrat gun owner that votes for them, should be aware that both are ready, willing and determined to take away your gun rights.

" renew their memberships in the NRA and GOA."
There are some on this site that only care about the NRA and feel the others (GOA, SAS, etc.) are irrelevent because they do not see the others names in newspapers or hear the names of the others on Congress' floors. It is unfortunate that they only see that as results.

What if they run unopposed? If you live in a RINO's district, start looking NOW for a viable challenger for the 2006 elections. It's a little late for the current election cycle.

There are some on this site that only care about the NRA...and there are some who continually, and unfairly, brand the NRA as gutless and self-perpetuating.
It takes all kinds, and arguing amongst ourselves is defeatist.

Protecting the entire industry trumps the AWB
Wow, do I ever disagree. The industry will survive, because most courts are tossing out these cases, and because a more conservative Senate can pass real reform without poison pills in the future.
The AWB, on the other hand, ensures that all future generations and centuries of Americans will be denied the most useful tools to ensure "the security of a free state."

Well, I will say this the GOA was better at rating senators that the NRA was in regards to the votes we have seen today.
