You want to do something to shore up support from the Conservatives that are pissed about this?

HOLD THE RINOS that supported this ACCOUNTABLE IN THE SENATE. If not then the Republicans can kiss their majority good bye. Along with the White House. They should lose any seats on committees, and their funding from the RNC should be put in jeapardy.

They're either With us or again us! Aint no in-between!

Hutchison voted no on AWB, I suspect Cornyn also did. I don't know about the gun show amendment.

Just keep ignoring the RINO's you idiots keep putting on the ballot. Do NOT get pissed at us for pointing out that your "affiliation over substance" cannard has holes in it big enough to drive an Ugly Weapons Ban through.

Who's doing the ignoring on this thread? Both my senators voted against the extension. You seem to be ignoring 46 Senators who voted the correct way.

And 8 RINOS that take MY vote for granted voted FOR IT.
Meanwhile the Republican Party in particular the Repbulican Senate Leadership is more worried about getting a black eye for a FALSE story about some aide snooping in computer files related to Court Nominees.

How nice to have such leadership.

As stated earlier - they can't have it both ways.

On SUPER TUESDAY, both Democrat candidates for POTUS went ON RECORD as voting AGAINST lawful gun ownership and commerce.

John Kerry, and John Edwards, need to be exposed as clearly anti-gun and not allowed to ride the fence on the issue.

It happened in the middle of the campaign, there is no avoiding it, and any claim either may have had of being - even slightly -"progun" - is completely devoid of truth.

With Republicans like that, who needs Democrats?

Despite her earlier slip on voting for the Boxer Amendment, Hutchinson got it right on these two. Cornyn has been doing an excellent job so far.

Fitzgerald fron IL is already gone, he isn't seeking another term, the question is which of the Republicans running to fill his seat is the most progun? Even though, it is unlikely the seat will remain in the R column. Illinois is the California of the midwest.

And if my two Republican Senators had voted against the amendment, the amendment would not have obtained a majority.

Which fricken' party most resembles Nazis?

I can't believe that he can practically quote Himmler, and call GWB 'extreem'!

Paging Carl Rove - Side by side comparison when it's time to pull out the big guns please.

And my question remains. What difference does it make? Jorge Delano Bush has said he will sign the re-authorization if if comes to him.

What part of that do you see as anything diffent than two senators that just voted to approve that legislation?

Remember it wasn't too long ago Jorge Delano Bush said he had some real conserns with the CFR Legislation but he signed it any way.

He won't do anything different here. He doesn't have the political spine to stand up and veto it. If it gets thru the house It will become law.

Another victory for the RINOS. CFR, AWB, MEDICARE DRUGS, Minority preferences is College Entry, home loans, Patriot Act, Ammesty for Criminal Aliens.

My only question is why Vote Republican, because that platform looks just like the Democrats?

The Dims were even using Bush's AWB comments to help hammer through the rest of their Amendments.

"Party over principle" at work....

Republicans voting yes on AWB - Fienstein amendment:

Collins (R-ME), Yea
Chafee (R-RI), Yea
DeWine (R-OH), Yea
Fitzgerald (R-IL), Yea
Gregg (R-NH), Yea
Lugar (R-IN), Yea
Smith (R-OR), Yea
Snowe (R-ME), Yea
Voinovich (R-OH), Yea
Warner (R-VA), Yea

My question is what do these folks have in common? (other than their contempt for the Constitution)

Are they all members of the Council on Foreign Relations?

If you want a real shocker, look up the source for the text of the 1968 Gun Control Act. To save you time, it was translated from a Nazi law passed in the late 1930's and submitted without a change to the wording at all.

"You seem to be ignoring 46 Senators who voted the correct way."

6 of the 47 senators that voted against the AWB were Dems, that means that 41 were GOP. Picking up 2 seats would not do squat if it were not for the 6 dems. Miller was one and he is not running for relection, so we do gain a seat, but that does not pick up one more vote than we had.

Are you going to hand control over the Senate because of the actions of a half a dozen Republicans? Are you going to let the anti's back into the White House because Bush is a moderate? Are you going to abandon the majority we have in Congress because of six Republicans?
