Bush 47% Kerry 45% Other 3% Not Sure 5% RasmussenReports.com
--The latest Rasmussen Reports Presidential Tracking Poll shows George W. Bush with 47% of the vote while John F. Kerry attracts support from 45% of the nation's likely voters.
Kerry has been steady at 45% of 46% of the vote for the last seven days. Support for Bush has generally been at 46% or 47% during this period, but it did go above that level on two days in the last week.
The Rasmussen Reports Presidential Election Survey is updated daily by noon Eastern.
After the President declared his support for an Amendment defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman, 52% of Americans now say they trust Bush more than Kerry on the issue of gay marriage. Twenty-six percent (26%) prefer Kerry.
Additionally, 51% now believe their own taxes will go up if Kerry wins. That represents a 6-point jump from a month ago. Other data on shifting perceptions of Kerry will be released later in the week.
At the national level, on the key issue of managing the economy, the candidates are practically even. Forty-six percent (46%) of voters prefer Bush on the economy while 43% prefer Kerry. Rasmussen Reports updates this issue comparison on a weekly basis.
Rasmussen Reports measures the nation's economic confidence on a daily basis. Perceptions of the President's economic management and overall approval ratings often move up and down in synch with the confidence of Consumers and Investors.
A separate survey finds that 55% of American voters believe the U.S. should make sure that Iraq becomes a peaceful nation enjoying freedom and democracy. Thirty-eight percent (38%) want troops brought home as soon as possible.
The national telephone survey of 1,500 Likely voters was conducted by Rasmussen Reports over the past three nights. Margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Methodology

This is interesting and postive news. The campaign ads haven't yet seriously started on the Repub side. Kerry scares me. He's either delusional or a stone cold liar with no morals, no standards, no beliefs but for those of personal power. In a time of war, Kerry is exceptionally dangerous.

And the polls are Democrat slanted (because they're always home).
This is great news for Bush.
Heck, Kerry has had the press for weeks, and Bush has had none. Bush still beats Kerry!
Bush landslide in 2004.

Actually Rasmussun (Portrait of America in 2000 I think) was the one poll that consistently showed Bush with a decent lead ofver gore, he also failed to catch the movement to Gore in the final days (after the DUI charge).
So, historically this poll is not slanted Dem, but is also not accurate.
That said, Rasmussen CHANGED the way he polls, and has been VERY ACCURATE so far this primary season. He caught the Dean fade in Iowa, and was the first to catch the Edwards swell in Wisconsin.

Unlike Algore, he's been getting away with lying constantly. He scares me too.

Keep defining Kerry as a tax and spend liberal..

...51% now believe their own taxes will go up if Kerry wins...
As the campaign progresses, I'll bet Karl Rove will be able to push this number into the high 50's or low 60's and that may be a mortal wound for Kerry.
To: concerned about politics
Bush will be the first president elected with greater than 50% of the popular vote since 1988.

I gotta say, daily interest in polls is something for Rove & The Gang, but it will prove maddening for us bystanders. Check em out every week, I say, no more than that. Also, don't read too much into them.
Bush is well positioned to win in 2004. Think positive, campaign in small ways (or big ways), and do our part, I say.

Last night in the debate, Kerry claimed that under Bush there's been a 7 million swing in job losses. No one challenged it. I was stunned.

I can't believe the RATS would try to fight the 60's over again.....Kerry is nothing but a late 60's... early 70's radical.
